Hello,
I just comment here, even though it is a 3-years-old post, because I will be visiting The Netherlands in july and I would like to meet some of our "apostate" brothers, if possible. Send a PM to contact me for details.

I like some sentences. For instance:
Beware of "organization." It is wholly unnecessary. The Bible rules will be the only rules you will need. Do not seek to bind others' consciences, and do not permit others to bind yours. Believe and obey so far as you can understand God's Word to-day, and so continue growing in grace and knowledge and love day by day. (Watch Tower 09/15 1895, p. 216)
Build your hope on Scriptural truth, not on the imaginations of imperfect men. (Watchtower 1/1 1968, p. 6)
You may wisely decide against putting your trust in imperfect men and their fallible predictions and promises. (Watchtower 3/15 1966, p. 168)
However, to gain accurate knowledge of God’s personality, each individual needs to open God’s Word, the Bible, and examine it for himself. Do not passively allow others to mold your thinking. (Watchtower 5/1 2009, p. 6)
These helped me to realize that I must be careful with GB's teachings.

I beg the Apostate Nation to provide a clear and loud response to that article. I hope the brightest brains on this forum are already working on it. Truth shall win.

watchtower saying that apostates are mentally ill?
by worried inhi.
i remember reading posts about a newer watchtower study edition, telling that apostates (or people plainly leaving the truth) were mentally ill. can anyone tell me what edition that was?
i have searched through the forums for the last half hour, and either am i terrible at searching, or they have all vanished..

This Watchtower issue is so heavy. I never read stuff like this. Paragraphs 6 through 8 on page 16 are just so unfair. That is a clear warning against apostasy, that means more and more JWs are reading apostasy.

Armaggeddon may occur invisibly
by mankkeli inat the end of today's meeting, some over-righteous friends were discussing the various possibilities of armaggeddon occuring invisibly, considering the explanation given within the "parousia" domain on the invisible presence of christ in 1914. they reffered to some articles which i am presently looking through.. .
while he was sitting upon the mount of olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence [pa?rou?sia, greek] and of the conclusion of the system of things?.
"in our day, then, what is meant by the biblical expression the presence of our lord jesus christ?

After reading posts like theses, I just can say: THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING THERE AND HELP WITH YOUR SENSE OF HUMOR! The only path to sanity...
I cannot think of a better way to cope with the Cognitive Dissonance created by the failed WT eschatology.
I too believe Armageddon has already come & this is paradise. (Only it's an invisible paradise) I think I'm invisible too.

I am sorry for that situation. It could happen to me as well, it depends on what means apostasy to my elders. Receive all my support! You are not alone!

Publication about blood transfusions and JW
by Eclectic ini wanted just to inform you about a publication, in case you are not aware of it, called declaration on the refusal of the jehovah's witnesses to accept blood transfusions (published in catalan, spanish and english) by the observatori de bioetica i dret (i. e. observatory of bioethics and law) of the university of barcelona from november 2005, which states: "it is important to recognise and highlight the issue which underlies the debate: the doubt arising in certain cases on the part of medical personnel regarding the degree of autonomy with which members of jehovahs witnesses take decisions to refuse blood transfusions.
the usual presence of persons who act as mediators between the patient and the doctor may lead to doubts regarding the moral autonomy with which certain patients make decisions concerning their treatment.
certain health professionals claim although confi rming these claims would prove diffi cult that for some jehovahs witnesses imposition by the doctor of the blood transfusion is a form of liberation of the patients own moral responsibility since the patient is not then allowed to decide anything and the risk to life is avoided.

Observatory of Bioethics and Law) of the University of Barcelona from November 2005, which states: "it is important to recognise and highlight the issue which underlies the debate: the doubt arising in certain cases on the part of medical personnel regarding the degree of autonomy with which members of Jehovah’s Witnesses take decisions to refuse blood transfusions. The usual presence of persons who act as mediators between the patient and the doctor may lead to doubts regarding the moral autonomy with which certain patients make decisions concerning their treatment. Certain health profes sionals claim –although confi rming these claims would prove diffi cult– that for some Jehovah’s Witnesses imposition by the doctor of the blood transfusion is a form of liberation of the patient’s own moral responsibility since «the patient is not then allowed to decide anything» and the risk to life is avoided. This interpretation is reinforced by the view that the ethical norms associated with religious beliefs have often been imposed rather than freely accepted by members, i.e., they were in effect authoritarian as opposed to autonomous ethics, unless we apply a trivial interpretation of «autonomy». In such cases then, the claim would be that the religious norm forbidding transfusion was an imposed norm." (pages 36-37) and the committee that wrote the document recommends on page 41: "surrogate decisions will not be accepted in the case of children when refusal to accept the unanimously recommended medical treatment involves a grave risk to the life or health of the child. These situations, when ocurring, must be reported to the competent authority". You can read this document online here: http://diposit.ub.edu/dspace/bitstream/2445/11374/1/Testigos_de_Jehova.pdf
