ive not been to a meeting in five years probably.
yet my husband still goes and i always envision him going in and the hardy handshakes he gives, greeting and being greeted, sitting there with all those suits with the secrets hidden inside, and all those pretty dresses hiding the pain.
if i wasnt disassociated, i wonder if i would be bolder, speak up, be honest with the "friends" instead of toeing the company line.

Ya she be the one. Ever since I went there when I was twelve to eighteen it's always been a cold cong. I think it will always be one. It's alot different than other congs. but I'm glad that's the one I went to because they made be look into things because of their ungodly attitudes.

I went to a meeting about a year ago and was suprised by the outcome. I wasn't df'd or da'd just inactive. I went up to my friend who happened to be a 70ish grandmotherly woman. She and I had been really close. She said hi and then dismissed me. Well, I was a little upset, but sat down and had two people come up to say hi out of 120+ that were there and one of them was my sister. I thought that people would be happy to see that I was there and trying to "come back", but throughout the meeting I got disgusted looks and outright rejection. The meeting was as boring as always with a little bit about apostates, a little about studying vigilantly, and a little bit about field service.
there is a phenomenon in dub dom that i have always hated.
the circuit/district convention.. people will spend hard earned money, use up any vacation they may have to travel to a city they don't really have any particular reason to see to sit for entire days and listen to the same b.s.
they could sit and listen to at the meetings in their home kingdom hall.
The only part of the conventions I liked was right when the session ended and we could get to the hotel and to the swimming pool. The last convention I went to I think I spent about 5 hours of the three days at the convention and the rest at the hotel having a party. I used to take attendant jobs also because it broke up the day and we were walking around more than sitting.

i recently heard that the elders have a book written by the wtbts that is given to a parent who has a spouse who left the org or to grandparents who have children that left the org.
the book is designed to help you turn the children against the unbelievers so that you can get custody of them.

I appreciate the efforts of looking. I do a lot of work with helping others in cults or coming out of cults and I have a friend that's leaving the witnesses now and found out that his parents got the book. The grandparents are trying to turn the children against him and his wife. I think a copy of it would help him fight this off. I fight it despicable to what lengths the society will go.

can you remember that distinct moment in your life when you suddenly knew that your time as a jw was truly over?.
for me, that moment came several years after the removal of my privileges in the congregation when i admitted to having known my then fiance in a way that was not fitting for a ministerial servant.. i was quickly stripped of my 2 servants jobs, group study conducting, pioneer status, public talk giving and praying in the kh.
i was also forbidden to ever be alone with the lady concerned.. about 15 months later i was assigned a public talk, after 30 minutes i dried up.
For me it started with the change of the policy on civil service and then the change on voting. After that and much research I woke up one morning and said to myself, "I'm f****n free". It was the greatest day of my life.
