I also did unassigned territory in Kentucky. Over in Hazard and Mousie and a couple of other small towns. There was some strange ones down there.

Who was the Strangest on the Doors?
by individual inyes, who was the strangest person you ever met in the field service, or what was the strangest experience?
i once met a man who claimed that he had invented everything, including the hovermower, the hovercraft and the xylophone.
he said he created the hovermower out of dustbin lids attached to an old lawnmower.

Hello All,
The third installment of the newsletter, Life After the Watchtower, is coming out soon! I do need a little help. Any of you who would like to share their story please email me at [email protected] Also anyone who would like to write a commentary on any subject is welcome to email me. I'm trying to work on a special article about the Silentlambs issues. This newsletter will be going out to many churches in my area so that they too are aware of the issues going on inside the Watchtower and the local congregations. So any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. In the meantime bear with me as I start updating the website again. I apologize for the length of time it's taken me to getting around to this, but I needed to take some time away for awhile. Again I appreciate any help and suggestions.

Monomaniacal Ex-JWs?
by dunsscot inits been a while since i read stephen r. covey's _the 7 habits of highly effective people_ and i do not feel like looking up the section i am getting ready to mention.
but i think i recall covey talking about the unhealthy habit of becoming overly engrossed in one activity or pursuit.. it seems that there are individuals using this medium of communication whose life's aim is to "help" jws out of the "borg" or 'bring down the tower.
if it tricks your trigger, i guess there is nothing anyone can do to prevent you from "helping" jws out of the "borg.

For the first two years after finally leaving the org, the biggest cosumption for me was exposing the Watchtower and trying to help as many people out as I could. It consumed me to the point that it was burning me out. My wife and child hardly ever saw me so I finally backed off. I haven't really done a whole lot with it and now I'm really just here for those who've just left and need the support and help in the transition period which has really proved to be a blessing. I've met many wonderful people over the course of the last year.

How Many IN, OUT, etc.
by troubled ini'm wondering how many here are "active jws," "inactive jws," "x-jws," or "never jws.".
i don't mean to be nosy.
i'm just wondering how many are in a situation like mine (still in, but struggling).

I was raised a JW from birth. I was pressured into baptism at the age of 14 and led a double life. On one hand I was leading the life of someone on their way to bethel and becoming an elder, (assembly and convention parts, talks, and priveldges in the hall, etc) and on the other hand having "worldly" girlfriends, sneaking out of the house, and drinking. I never believed most of what I was teaching, but was caught like most everyone else. I did fear God and felt that even though most of the teachings I felt were false, that God would fix them because the JW's had the "one true religion", of course getting access to a computer finally changed that. I totally left a year ago. Most of my family won't have anything to do with me, except for my father who is DA'd, my sister who is about to leave, and my mother who is still an active JW, but won't talk to me about religion. I have never been happier in my life. I no longer have to take Zoloft or any other anxiety pills, I no longer have nightmares of dying at armaggedon, now the nightmares consist of me going back to the religion!

Staying awake during the Watchtower study
by drahcir yarrum inhere's a question i always wanted answered during the years i was a witness.
what's the best way to stay awake during the watchtower study?
oh, furthermore, what's the best way to stay awake during any witness "snooze-a-thon" brainwashing session?

I used to run the sound system behind a large wall so I used to read books during the whole meeting. I almost got caught one time when I was in an especially good chapter and I didn't realize the Wathctower study started and I forgot to turn the microphone on for an answer! Another guy, who is now an ex, used to bring his pocket video games and play them while running the sound system.

Do Majority of exJWs remain Christians?
by Ray Skyhorse indo the majority of exjws retain a christian faith after leaving the borg?
does the majority of exjws continue studying the bible on their own or join a new christian group that's less rigid than the jws?

Atheists/Agnostics/Prayer
by patio34 inon the subject of prayer: this is addressed to the more atheistic or agnostic ones amongst us.. now, all those years i prayed really hard when times were tough, and then things worked out.
i now believe it was my own hard work that gave the solutions.
prayer was helpful in that i felt i had help.

My mother told me about two years ago to pray to God and he would show me that the witnesses had the "truth". Obviously He answered me by making me do two years worth of research and turning me into an atheist!
