  When You Were A JW Were You Disturbed By "Apostate" Literature or "Apostates" At Conventions?

  i was always curious about what they had to say.

  Yes - it scared me. It was an invitation by Satan himself! LOL!
  However, when I was ready to question more seriously, I had no qualms about reading apostate literature. I must admit though, that to this day, I still hate reading about the trinity and those who left the WTS to go to yet another religion. THAT, I despise. Otherwise, I'm thankful of all the apostates that have opened up.
  
  My personal brand of apostasy is more rejecting the idea of YHWH and turning to atheism, than wasting my time with the WTS's BS. Although it does amuse me to see them get what they deserve, like in the Conti case. :D

  I love the "Keep Close in Mind Jehovah's Day" part! Oh yes - the urgency of it all - said in a book 2,000 years ago. They have lost their steam on that one...

  I'm hopeful - for Truth and Justice's sake.
  
  I believe the net is, and will continue to be an important factor - and I can see the scandals continue with their presumptuous appeal to the Conti case. I have no idea what they're thinking - they are stupidly prepping themselves for a shit-storm of media-savy scandals!
  
  It may be wishful thinking in the sense that they may just transform into something else. Time will tell.

  JAN 2013 SHUNNING ARTICLE COULD MEAN JWS NOT AS OBEDIENT

  in a separate thread, there's been intense discussion about how the gb is still seeking to tighten its grip on the rank and file.

  the latest evidence is the january 2013 watchtower which rolls out hugely predictable statements about not doing anything to upset one's (jw) family by, for example, being in email contact with a disfellowshipped witness.

  it's hard to stifle the yawns.

  I've always gotten into trouble for not respecting the shunning crap. On day an elder told me that if I continued to talk to the DFed, I could be DFed myself - and I told him "be my guest! That would make such a stink, you could never justify DFing a bro that has not sinned just because he talks to another human. Go ahead!" He told me I was a trouble maker - which I was not. I just never thought it Christian to shun anyone. WE do have a mind of our own... Proof is I left and became an atheist.

  i remember reading an article, maybe from the 70's not sure, where wtbts condemned people who misquote people for their own purposes.. i'd be thankful if anyones remembers this and could post it here..

  Yes -- I have to check, but it was about how to recognize untruth. It was one of my favorite! I THINK it was in 1984 - petty sure, but not 100% - and I do recall it being in an Awake! Again, my memory is not fresh on it - but I absoltely want to find it again.
