I find much fault in the Organization, and I'm now an atheist (so I don't care about any reproach on god's name). However, the bias of an exJW could easily jump on this story and make it a JW/WTS issue.IT'S NOT.No religion has the monopoly of crime, and if anything, the JWs are not on top of that hill.
So come on, people. I have a lot of justified bitterness towards my ex-religion - enough not to add the fantasy of this being some kind of 'proof' of how bad this cult is!I get really weary and skeptic of people who jump on this as if it made them happy to add this to their spite.

A question regarding bringing reproach on Gods name
by crazycate inregarding the tragedy in gresham this last week, i have nothing but sadness for the loss of that young life, and nothing but sympathy for the family and friends that mourn her.
i do, however, see the attempts being made to make sure everyone "knows" that the alleged killer was not a "real witness.".
i was raised as a jehovah's witness and remember the conversations that surrounded any criminal action by a member of the congregation.

Email from my grandmother yesterday.
by elder-schmelder inhere is an email that my grandmother sent me yesterday.. .
shawn, it's very difficult & sad to come to this decision, but because of your attitude towards the truth & us personally (thinking that we are stupid) we're going to treat you as a disfellowshipped person from now on.
actually, you're worse than them because usually they know they have not kept their oath to jehovah & don't speak abusively of the organization and don't turn apostate.

Control. Just like the WTS. Control. She may have your financial balls, but thankfully not your mind and heart! More power to you.

What's true and what isn't?
by chapstick inalthough i was born into the wts i haven't been involved in it for decades, i do have a personal prediction based on about 6.56% of the societies doctrines, decades of meditation, crazy women, drug abuse and bible stories that i memorized in my childhood.
here goes: the great tribulation and armageddon (which started with the first shots fired from syria into turkey last month), a physical ascention for a few, the shocking appearance of great signs and wonders in the sky and the disclosure that aliens were/are our ancestors who colonized the planet will take place in the next weeks to such a degree that will be undeniable to everyone.
the economic and political collapse of the western democracies and the opening of literal, newly found scrolls (one set under the right paw of the sphinx) will be on everyones mind and they will reveal the truth about religion and the dirty laundry of nearly every political and religious figure on the planet both now and in the past; it will be the most shocking disclosure of criminality, genocide and debauchery that has ever taken place on this planet.

What I especially love about this cover art, is how it is a perfect parody of the WT's mags in the 60's and 70's. If you just glance at it, you'd think it was a WTS publication! Clever! :D)))
