So, quantum science is going to have to somehow intergrate with religion, it would seem. How could you possibly call ALL Shaman's charlatans? That's just lazy thinking. To me there is just no way our ancestors had it 100% wrong on God.//
Really?
How could 100% of our ancestors be wrong on the flat earth theory?
Or on the order of creation days where the god of genesis creates vegetation before the sun?...
I could go on... and your comment on " science is going to have to somehow intergrate with religion" is most absurd and one track minded.
Science has clearly debunked the Bible on so many levels, that it's historical accuracey is no more proof than many of our action movies today also based in real history.

How is creationism DISPROVED?
by sabastious init is disproven.
but let's start another thread, because this one is being yanked off track again.
creationism/evolution always deserves its own thread.

// Thor and Zeus are real because they are based off known phenomenon and historical fact. //
Oh - and YHWH doesn't apply here? You are very inconsistant - and your cognitive dessonance is showing. -

Braincleaned, we already have proof that there was a creator and that's us.
May I respectfully point out that this line of reasoning is no better than pointing to thunder and lightning as proof for the existance of Thor or Zeus.
You see the logical fallacy of your statement?
However, I do believe that quantum mechanics may suggest that there is more intellegence in nature than we thought. We still have ways to go in discovery, and many are already calling this 'God" - so be it. It still doesn't point to the man-made gods of our supertitions of old! -

Since 2/3/2010Please, someone, disprove this:
The universe was created by an intelligent being.
Nobody is saying this is not possible, so the burden of proof is on you that claims this as a fact. -

January 2013 Watchtower - HAVE JEHOVAHS WITNESSES GIVEN INCORRECT DATES FOR THE END?
by TheStumbler ini was just on the new jw.org site and i have to say, they've done a good job.
it looks pretty sleek and is easy to navigate.
the production values of their magazines (in particular the photos) seems to have improved since i last spent much time on the site.

I also note that in their show of humble admittance having gotten dates wrong, they avoid bringing up Deuteronomy 18: 20-22...

I've heard the pregnant mom example a million times. Truth is, sometimes the mom is just fat.

Who (not what) is your guilty pleasure? (Controversial favorites)
by Terry inwe all have somebody we are crazy about that almost everybody can't stand.. if you mention their name your companions give you that "look" (ya know the one, like you just got caught picking your nose!).
i was thinking about this the other day.
i was truly curious if i'm mental or if everybody has a guilty pleasure list like i do.. i'm just going to assume we all do until you set me straight.. if you attach a photo and short explanation about why you like these pariahs it will be more meaningful.. .

Not specifically in this order - Christopher Hitchens; Bertrand Russell; Einstein; Richard Dawkins; Sam Harris; Lawrence Krauss - and the woman I would marry on the spot; Ashley Judd.

Girls are unpredictable, materialist, and use us, men, as a toy.
by will-be-apostate inwell, it seems like i am going to ruin the domination of raypublishers' topic at this section of the board.
:d. now back to the topic.
the last month i was trying to get "closer" to my classmates and to the others from my highschool.

I hear you Would-Be...
This is how toxic this cult is when it comes to sexual guilt, but also how precarious true romantic love is.
But you will be okay, I trust you will. Your main task now is to get ready for your upcoming independance. Try to be patient. I wish I would have cut ties with the WTS at your age. You are starting off in a good position.
Concentrate on how you can be finacially independant. To be autonomous is to have a good job; money. Then your mind and heart will be free to embrace your social and romantic life.
You have my support. -

Lester Kite Who Was Humiliated,Character Tarnished, States During A Secret JC Hearing, Rude Watchtower Elders Mercilessly Insulted His Wife
by Scott77 in"...the secret hearings took place over two weekends in the latter part of 1992 and the committee consisted of the chairman, geoff woodfield (a family friend and a generally decent man); rensford ming (a quiet guy of jamaican origin, also a decent man); and dave churchill and stan rogers, both company men who humiliated me and assassinated my character.
they both were downright rude and insulting to my wife.
all elders, with the exception of woodfield were appointed from neighboring congregations.

Mine were kind, understanding, and mainly sad that I had lost the faith. They were incapable to adress my questions though, and I knew my Bible better it seems - not just well chosen scriptures, but more importantly, the context.
I didn't push too far because they were really loving. Kind of a sad moment, really. One has stepped down since... good guys.
After the JC, they gave me time to think about waht they said, that was all kindly said. I then moved, and I think they were relieved to have the excuse that I was no longer around, as I felt they really didn't want to slam me. From then on, I faded away...
