About my Coming Out...
by braincleaned insince my coming out publicly, i have received a lot of kind words.. i wanted to thank all of you from the depth of my heart.. .
on the other hand, i need to make two things clear:.
i'm often encouraged to use my position to create cartoons or stories for nickelodeon, etc.... i do not have that kind of fire-power.

Of course... and that is not my issue. My issue is how I'm being treated about my affiliations.
We all need to do things in out time. Of course. -

Since my coming out publicly, I have received a lot of kind words.
I wanted to thank all of you from the depth of my heart.
On the other hand, I need to make two things clear:
— I'm often encouraged to use my position to create cartoons or stories for Nickelodeon, etc…
I do not have that kind of fire-power. Plus, Nickelodeon is in the business of entertaining kids; religion and politics are out of the question. These publishers are my clients. The WTS did a good job of making the subject of JWs something repulsive… so I do all I can with what I have to help those who wake up. I'm also working on ideas for children.
However, I have been inboxed and insulted that I'm not doing enough, or that I won't put my career in jeopardy.
I am aghast!
Which brings me to my second point:
— I do NOT have to apologize for supporting my friends at AAWA, nor supporting Cedars.
I have opened my heart here, and I have already been dragged in the mud.
I will not be treated by my own exJWs like I was treated by the Borg.
I will have the decency to not promote anything from AAWA, since obviously there is a problem.
But I have freed myself from the bigotry of a religion/cult — and I get very sensitive when I see it anywhere else.
I hope I can stay here, uncensored, as I will not talk about this again.

Divorced Atheist ex-JW Dad
by braincleaned ini just wanted to chime in as a loving atheist father, divorced to a jw, and what plays as far as educating our children.. we have shared custody but the kids are mainly with their mom - 11 and 14 respectively.. the problem i face is keeping a balance for my children.
i have turned atheist during our marriage, so my ex didn't have the spiritual support she signed up for anymore.
i can understand it is not easy.

My dad was Flemish (Dutch) and my mom waloon (French) — but we spoke French at home. So my mother language is French.
Thank you for the kind words... happy to be here! -

Jehovahs Witnesses live in a " RELIGIOUS TOTALITARIAN " regime
by smiddy inno wonder they have a very high turnover of dis-satisfied members , a high number of suicides compared to mainstream religions , a high number of phsychological disorders among members .. totalitarianism is something we normally associate with political regimes , communism , fascism ,etc.etc.. it should also apply to reigions that have "high control "strategys , that keep the members cocooned in their beleif system.. discouraging members from getting information outside their control.
as though information is wrong .
you should be able ,using your god given brain to decide whether information you receive is beneficial or not .

Of course, this kind of control betrays insecurity.
Not being able to agree to disagree openly is a sign of weakness.
Illustration:
Coca~Cola deleting any Pepsi arguement instead of openly discussing it.
It would make the public doubt that Coca~Cola is actually capable of having a valid argument.
Of course, if the Pepsi's opinion is deleted, Coke wins dishonestly by default.
That, is totalitarian control.
This is the case with the WTS and apostates.
Shut the apostates up and delete them, then control the information.
Alas, I have seen this done by many other group/site leaders of different opinions to control information. -

Fact is, any group can be led by totalitarian means.
ANY time an opinion is cut off or demonized, there is totalitarianism.
ANY one lording over free speech practices totalitarianism.
ANY group that refuses to let in critique to themselves practices totalitarianism.
This is true for the Borg, but it can be true for any group that controls information.

The Borg is like Big Brother in Orwell's 1984.
Reading the book again is eye-opening! The WTS is as Orwellian as it gets. -

Just woke up hoping my avatar was updated, but it doesn't seem to work.
Not a big deal really — but if anyone knows of a trick to do that, I would gladly welcome the tip!
Have a great week, all of you! -

If all ''faders'' abruptly left the Watchtower and made no effort to hide the reasons why, what affect, if any, do you think it would make on the congregations?
by ThomasCovenant inwhen you're part of a lovely big group of people who all seem to be happy in their beliefs, it's easier to quell your own doubts.
if i was the only person left in the congregation who still went on the door to door work, because every body else had stopped going , having said out loud what most think, ''it's a waste of time'', how long do you think before i too would cease going door to door?.
i know from my own perspective that having lots of fellow witnesses around me, steered me into making life changing decisions.

I would love that. However, I agree that mostly, the Borg have the commands of the flock's brain.
But wow — if only...
