I have been puzzling over your take on history too kepler. History often meant recounting what was plausible and relevant during the time in question - at least amongst those who frequented the library at Alexandria. A signficant part of this process was to draw from traditional stories (to make is-toria) Is this the line you are taking by bringing Thucydides into the equation?
the icsa event in london was a day well spent although a little emotionally draining.
the event was well represented by ex jws who formed the biggest group there with representatives from both the uk and europe.
other cults discussed during the day were, exclusive bretheren, christian scientists, therapy cults, mystic cults, born again christian cults and some extremely scary mind control groups.

hi everyone, i would like to introduce myself and tell my story.
from the standpoint of being one of jehovahs witnesses, my whole family is deeply involved as i was the 5th generation of witness and any children that my brothers or sister have will be the sixth generation.
as some of my brothers and sisters are grandparents, i guess that makes their grandchildren a potential 7th generation.

In talking to you and reading this part of the thread - what you and loubelle are saying, plus with the input from what I have learned via literary studies, I'm deciding that grace is part of a powerful visitation a powerful addition to whatever resources we have. But is a two way system in that we receive, innovate and amplify back.

if jehovah's witnesses, which number about 7 million right now, are a small subset of the religious world today, what does that make former jw's?
as with any unique group, you have to be one to totally understand, esp if you were neck deep in it at one time.
when i first left, all i wanted to do was say the things i never had a chance to when i was in.
