Ex Witness Lament
I look upon my life today
And wish that I had known
There was an easier way
For my children I could have shown
Instead of hours of rushing out
To meetings "Doors" & Halls"
To distant towns & cities too!
Waiting for advice from the Watchtower crew
There was just one,s who voice to hear
Who said"Be still my friend"
My yoke is light, your in my sight
no need to rush around each night
In freezing rain,in sleet & heat.
Expressing you have comly feet.
Many of you work in pain
A need THEY SAY your life to gain."
He paid the price for you & I
Why listen to that other LIE ?
So lift that yoke,put on the cloak,
Salvations HIS to give.
Lets watch our way,keep in this day
His light will shine our path alway

What would you do?
by moman ina practicing jw is having some doubts about the borg.. he, and his wife are parents of a severly retarded son, whom they treat with much love.
they take him to some meetings & endure much heartache, as he cannot sit still for long.
he constantly drools & sometimes throws fits, he is strong and they need help in restraining him at times.. they believe that jehovah god will restore him to health, and if they just hang on long enough the new system will be here.. would you tell them the truth about the jw lie, or let them live in a fools paradise?

When I was "ousted" I wanted to kill myself. I still thought it truth
until I found people who loved me UNconditionally..Then when I found the relationship(not the religion)with Jesus...I thought of all those lovely people I had left behind in the Watchtower( I sound like Pauls words in Romans 10:1-10 sorry)I was asked to speak in a Church about "What can we say to the JW who knocks on our door" So I went & told them that which I wished some one would have told me....Well after the talk. They gave me a $30.00 check -I laugh now. But at the time I went home & cried, I thought --Yes didnt Judas get thirty!!!
Not any more. I dont bad mouth JWS , I do point out the errors in the teaching- IF one believes the scriptures....I dint celebrate Christmas for 10 yrs after I left...still hung on to a bit of the MIND CONTROL- ( yes I do believe there is mind control)But now I dont feel guilty at all..I am so happy they kicked me out .I feel like sending a THANK YOU card to the elder that did it.

How much trust do you put in others?

when you examine what you believe and why you believe it , how much is built on trust that information you read or hear is correct?.
of course none of us have time to check every thing out and it seams perfectly reasonable to me for us to have to trust others.. but we have all been burnt in the past.. sometimes what initally seams reasonable turns out to be false.. prehaps we can look at the methods used by people to see whether research is trust worthy.. but unless we personnaly can test these methods how can we vouch for them?.

How much trust do you put in others?

Hi Sleepy I have to agree with Guest 77-- I listen to what folks tell me- then I decide weather I believe it or not. Then I "do try to check it out"? If I cant find the proof & I still dont believe it -I forget it..All I know now is I am free. I was a Hundred & ten percent a "self rightous J.W." Passed judgement on every one ,every thing...
I dont have to do that now- I leave it all up to the JUDGE-no not Rutherford...... Christ!!!!!!! I dont even care when folks judge me....I know that dont matter either......But I do pray about things- I am amazed at how many things about myself I have changed, folks tell me I am a much nicer human being..I feel better about myself also. I "AINT" in charge of anyone elses life & they "aint" in charge of mine ....Cheers mate!!!! -

What did you give up that you wish you hadn't?
by VioletAnai inwhen i started studying again, i got the guilts and threw out lots of stuff.
over 200 cd's - goth, punk, industrial, rock, pop, classical, you name it, i threw it.
i got rid of my witchcraft books, astrology books, crystal ball, tarot cards, even my damn nintendo.

I gave up friends( worldly)
I threw out a gold cross a friend had given me( demonized)
I threw out wooden Hand carved "Indian Goddesses "( worth a lot today)
Threw away a desk( it had come from a church-& because we moved into a basement that was damp- it use to "knock" as it expanded-the Bros? told me it was demonized( it was an antique)
Threw out a brand new set of dishes- that had churches on them- my daughter got them for a wedding preasant)
All my Christmas decorations.
DAH!!!!
