  just when you think your immune to the pain from family members shunning you get a surprise.

  my sister hasn't talked or communicated with us for nearly 2 years.

  in november my mom bought her granddaughter ashley a beautiful doll.

  So Sorry Ven. Dont give up hope though.I did this to my parents also.
  They were not JWs. My Mother sent a cross - I sent it back.Then she sent a church on a gold chain-I sent it back.( she was in Eng:I am in Canada)But before she died I was able to visit her & tell her sorry I was for being under mind control .She read Crisies Of Conscience ,
  & forgave me.Keep the doll -Someday you will be able to show her what she missed. ((((((Hugs)))))

  I went to all those Lady Lee went to .I want to forget my stupidity..
  So am not remembering dates.
  By the way Lady Lee was the sign language leader- I watched her & enjoyed ( not that I was deaf or dumb in reality-just in spirit)
  Hey! but the blinders came off in 1987 when they kicked me out.Because I didnt see Jesus come invisably in 1914-But now I am keeping my eyes open to see HIM come again.............( no stoning please you atheists- )lol

  Obessed with sex?

  now that i have your attention....really, this is about sex.. this week's issue of newsweek contains an interesting commentary by anna quinlan, found on the last page, that deals with the catholic church's priestly sex scandal and how, for so many years, repressive teachings by the church in matters realting to human sexuality have been very counter-productive and have missed the mark badly while the church at the same time tried to cover-up cases of pedophilia among priests.

  examples given include teachings like no divorce (while people suffer in bad marriages), no birth control (thus teaching that sex is not be engaged in simply for pleasure but with the purpose of procreation), and so on.

  and yet in the meantime, they obviously missed the boat on the whole problem of sex abuse within their own priesthood.. while jw teachings are not as repressive, at times i have noticed a seeming obsession, if one might call it that, among some jws in matters of a sexual nature.

  But the sad thing is about that..Is how many marriages have they ruined.?Or how many marriages did they impose BECAUSE of their restrictions?In our support group- so many of them were told they should not be seeing the other sex-unless they were thinking of marriage- well we all know- most were desiring the "other"but because they were made to feel this was evil- they got married very young-& of course most of them didn't last- So What were the outcome?- Kids having kids-Broken homes- disrupted lives.I do hope the Watchtower will change its course on their teachings.

  this is my last day of posting for a little while, her ladyship and i are off on our holidays!.

  early tomorrow morning we travel up to london heathrow for the alitalia flight to naples, italy.

  i spent the last hour or so reading some of the posts and wow!

  i think i am in the right place.. a brief bio, i was raised as a "full" second generation witness (my grandmother converted) but always knew that i didn't want to be a witness.

  Welcome Jessi-Good to have you aboard. Hey !great you were never "dunked"- that is the answer to weather they speak to you or not. I was a loyal follower of the BORg for over 20 yrs. I too used to think "were to go,were to go" After they DF me-cos I didnt believe Jesus came in 1914 -Now I am 74- Im know where to go- and it "aint" to a bunch of old men at Brooklyn Bethel- I have young Df men coming to my home daily- ( we have a support group)& women- Why? to make sure this WIDOW is O.K.
  Unfortunatly the Borg dont look after their widows.

  i have been out since december 22 1984, 17 years,i was 16 and never looked back!

  and thats when apostacy was in the early stages and am now a full fledged member!.

  the fruitage of the spirit: love, joy, peace, faith, kindness, goodness, mildness, long suffering and self control.. easy to spot those who allow god's spirit to act on their behavior and when it is present.. it's pretty clear that no one group can claim exclusive ownership of these qualities.

  pretty clear that god's holy spirit does not pick people by which building they are in, which group they tag themselves with, which country they live in or by any other earthly human criteria.

  jesus said it is by your fruits that you will know them.

  i know that jw's say only 144,000. however, i just read a book called "as time runs out" by robert jeffress and he claims that all christians who have received jesus will be picked up at the rapture.

  but, he says, we will not all have the same rank in heaven.

  he claims that different responsibilities will be assigned.

  Yes but to get there( Heaven) you have to go through the Door,Gate,
  mediator,& in the book I am reading it says that is JESUS!!!
