  6/1/02 WT - Genes, homosexuality and behavior

  the june 1, 2002 wt has an interesting discussion of whether genetics and our biology have any influence on "alcoholism, homosexuality, promiscuity, violence, other aberrant behavior and..." .

  their conclusion?

  essentially, they say no.

  ill have to see these myself too. but im guessing they follow the pattern of late of trying to play down the genetic dispostion theories but ending up at the idea that no matter what genetic dispostions we have for whatever 'vices' including homosexuality, we are still responsible for our behaviour, and can overcome our genetic dispositions with gods help.

  ive found their treatment of the genetic argument to be much fairer than earlier stuff. genetics is not dismissed totally. i basically only take issue with their moral argument. thats what it comes down to.

  a thread started by realist which mentioned the flood and the disappearance of the dinosaurs got me thinking.

  since i do not own a bible i had to download one from the internet to check a few things out (my computer is really pissed at me now).

  it's been many years since i read the bible but i needed to be accurate in my research to ask my question.

  just thinking.... i can believe that a higher intelligence entity (hie) cannot be proven.

  i am willing to accept that a hie cannot even be definitively induced, even for marvels that we cannot demonstrate at this time (e.g.

  natural transformation of elements into living material).

  lol, i was *just* gonna say go look up Gödel's theorem (note the spelling) it says more than that if you think about it, directly related to your statement:

  I am within a system, attempting to disprove the existence of something outside that known system.

  i think i had almost the same smack-on-head realization as you a while ago when i really tried to think this thru.

  i decided not to join the witness 3 months ago(for personal reasons) i dont want to join no organization, not either churchs,.

  i feel alot better to preach the truth and live by the laws & commandments and survive this last century(last days) by myself, along with my girlfriend... .

  i love the witness, they are the only ones, who tell billions the truth.. 40% of my bible(kingjamesversion) information, i got from the witness, the rest i learn by myself, thanks to jehovah(yahweh) & the wonderful armageddon messiah(king jesus)...but i feel kinda alone on the internet going around helping and preaching jehovah'god & jesus word, because as it is written, in the last century, millions will turn away from the truth- 2 timothy chapter 4 verse 2 .

  if there god is supposed to be the all-powerful, backing their organisation fully, men being led by god's spirit etc, then what of the lack of activity within china which has in excess of a billion inhabitants?

  is their god not partial to the chinese?

  previously it was common to imply that some countries might suffer from a 'community bloodguilt' the same way as the land of Canaan did. Jehovah would simply wipe out the lot of them. nowadays, now that there is at least some presence in india & china, it is pretty standard to simply say that jehovah will draw out those sheeplike individuals by some means.

  theres a lot of stuff going on here i was trying to identify: drunkeness; violence; gambling; homosexuality; beastiality; dancing; deforestation; and what are those people in the coloured clothes.... the french?? and what that way in the background on the left? is that... is that Jar-Jar?? ah, now i understand what god did.
