PASSION of the Christ
by myownsaviorthankyoumuch inwondering if anyone has seen it yet, and what the general consensus was around here.
i saw it a week ago this coming monday, overall i liked it, and didnt really see what the controvesy was, thought that the aramaic w/ english subtitles was a nice touch, cinematography was great, watching mary's griefmoved me a whole lot more than watching jesus get tortured, satan rocked visually, i especially enjoyed the fact that he was portrayed by a female, [that was not a comment to instigate the femenists on the board] though he had one too many hollywood moments, i really like the fact that jesus actually came across as arrogant, not the weakling he is always portrayed as during the easter season, he actually had some nads, and had something to say, that was cool, made him a lot more real in my eyes, after walking out of the theater though, i could only keep thinking to myself this was such a tragedy in the likes of homer, a hero bound for disaster, a legend told through the centuries, much like king arthur became a legend based on the events of a real man, im thinking the same must have happened with him, 80 flogs with bamboo into it i was thinking endorphines and adrenaline, yet it kept going into a second round, how he was able to walk after that and carry a cross, seemed a bit ludicrous, comments??

I just got back from seeing this movie and all I can say is I hated it. I hated everything about it...I quit watching the movie once they made it to the mountain. I thought the flogging was way too graphic and I wasn't up for watching any more gore. I didn't shed a tear because it made me so angry. If I hadn't been with a friend I would have walked out. If I had any glimpse of faith in God before (not saying I did) then it is definitely gone now. To say we are made in God's image and then watch the "son of God" be tortured like that is ludicrious to me.

The Truth about Christianity Part II - Give your views
by yxl1 inok, so we've had the views of christians on this board.
http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/10/67335/1.ashx where sirona respectfully asked for christians only to comment.
fair enough, but i'd personally like to know what everyones view of christianity is.. as sirona said:what is the truth about christianity?.

Finally I decided that its nothing more than a bunch of ancient morals/myths/tales/traditions bound together with the added "bonus" that people believe that god inspires them. IMO, christianity and the belief in the bible, has pushed us further away from god. Until we move on from these ancient beliefs and start searching for god in our own way, we will forever remain in the darkages.
My feelings exactly! I don't think I could have said it any better myself! -

Are you *really* into something?
by DanTheMan ingetting to know various personalities on this board, i get to feeling that a missing component in my life is to get *really* into something.. for instance, the board has our resident intellectuals and political debaters.
i am in awe of the broad scope of knowledge and seemingly instant recall of obscure facts that many on this board seem to have.
i consider myself to be fairly intelligent, but i am light years from being a true intellectual.

I am really into photography, though I don't persue it like I would like to. I am very much into my kids and I enjoy taking pictures of them and then I try to use alot of my photos to do scrapbooking...I rather do that than throw them into a box.
