  Was the F & D always a "class"?

  i need you guys to point me toward any proof that the wts used to beleive that the f & d was russel himself and not a group of chosen ones.

  Thanks for the insight RR-

  My thoughts are that according to the bible the faithful and discreet is any one person doing the will of God and that upon the "rapture" when Jesus arrives this faithful person will be rewarded. Proper "food" is preaching work done by this faithful slave when he provides the message of good news and life in heaven to those who are distressed over being sick, poor etc. No where does the bible call this person a class. I am so damn sick of classes - and the WT is one of the most guilty for causing upper and lower class/rank JW's.

  ((((((((Tatiana/APRIL)))))))))) honey - yes spousal rape can be a very big ordeal and a tough case to prove. Anytime a man forces himself upon a woman in a fit of anger or as a power thing by force and without consent it is rape. Just because you are married to her does not mean you own her.

  You should expose "Brother" Sanders and "Brother" Thomas.

  Well - YOU KNOW - how do you defend this bull? Where are you Fred - how wonderful is this new article. Do you SEE all of the posts here with personal experiences? I do and it disgusts me. I would like your opinion on this. Will you defend the Governing Body on this one fellas?

  OK - it gets sicker - the more I read the more twisted it gets!!!!

  The last paragraph of the page long expierience - it says (page 11)

  "Shortly after, Alfredo was baptized, and now he and his wife serve as full-time ministers. "He often helps me clear the table after meals and make the beds," says Lourdes. "He commends me on my cooking and he allows me to make choices..."

  Allow me to interupt here - HE ALLOWS HER to make choices. OMG - am I REALLY reading this? OK, I will continue with the quote --

  "such as what music I would like to listen to or what items we will buy for hte house. These are things that Alfredo would never had done before! Recently, for the first time, he bought me a bouquet of flowers. Sometimes I think I am dreaming."

  So - she thinks she is dreaming when he knocks her out cold? Can you imagine your husband to ALLOW you to listen to a certain type of music and think you are in heaven because of it? SICK!!! [>:(] [>:(]

  i am stunned.. with all the effort to try and make the issue of abuse known through silentlambs.

  the hundreds of accounts given by victims explaining the foundation of why watchtower policy hurts children.

  the lawsuits now being enacted to make watchtower compensate those injured by their policy.

  Also they give a 2 page long example of a woman getting her teeth knocked out by her Catholic hubby and they are both baptized now and it shows pictures of him bringing her flowers. (What you don't see is the brusies under her clothes I bet.) They tried to create a wonderful fuzzy feeling that if you stick with Jehovah it will all work out. You are right - the JW's will think it is the best warm loving article ever.

  Let's all join in on dungbeetle's idea and send copies of the article to our local shelters and so on with the bs parts highlighted in bright markers. Let's get the word out!

  More points from the article:

  page 7 "The bible long ago foretold that during "the last days" of this system of things, many would be "abusive" with "no natural affection" and "fierce." The prevelence of spouse abuse is simply another indication that we are living in the very time period designated by this prophecy."

  Well folks, I find it interesting that these wahoos must think spouse abuse is new.

  ***There is also and article on a husband who was a wife beater and he abused her emotionally and physically. He knocked out her teeth and so on. Well, she started studing with witnesses and after she was baptised her never hit her again. Then he got baptised later on. It shows pictures of him bringing her flowers and helping with dishes. I am really starting to feel like I need to puke.***

  This was my first post:

  Ahhh, the book of Revelations, how complex it is. I have a wonderful exercise that really helps me and is a lot of fun. First pray to Jehovah for understanding and to make your eyes see. Next, read Revelation 22:16 and note it is Jesus speaking in the last chapter of Revelation. Now, scroll up verse 13 and read straight through verse 16 without stopping. Did you see what I saw? Now note, Jesus sent his angel to bear witness and recall what was said in verse 13. Is that not an interesting excercise! Thought it was fun and I should share. :)

  Elder burn-out

  while responding to another post, i started to wonder how many other current or former elders out there have also seen the high turnover rate among elders.

  before i left the jws a couple of years ago, i was an elder for about 4 years and within that time i saw the local elder body drop from eight to four people.

  even before that it seemed that the elder body had a revolving door on it.

  I just heard an elder in a local town (elder for years) disagreed with some policies and stepped down. He is now inactive and looks like a whole new person - tattos and all. Nothing is being done to him either. Interesting.

  Ridiculous rules-

  i had my jw father tell me that green shirts were rebellious, and an elder said that star wars was demonic, just to give a couple of examples.......

  I know one elder tried to get a few people in our hall to stop working for the US Postal Service because it was a government organization and because one of them delivered mail to an officer's club.

  No earrings for men.

  Only one pair of earrings for the ladies.

  I was the only rebel kid allowed to watch the smurfs - and an elder's daughter no less.

  No after school sports.

  Advanced classes and gifted classes were a no-no because they took my time away from bible study - I was taken out.

  Sunglasses in field service.

  No alcohol at weddings.

  Graduation parties.

  Talking on the phone with boys.

  Kissing unless you are engaged.

  School functions period.

  One that still gets me and is a major no-no is Birthdays.

  Leaching off mom and dad well into your 30's was OK if you are pioneering.

  No patting sisters on the back.

  No skirts above the knee.

  No dancing like you are at a rave.

  And on and on and on...

  But... crazy things that are allowed - that could make volumes of books.

  in my opinion, the lack of good "debate" and discussion of veiwpoints are some of the things that made my 'active duty' days less than enjoyable.
