Nobody knows if she is or is not.
This thread is all about assumptions.
The people who are making assumptions that Simon or anyone else is being mean to her is ridiculous. I didn't find Simons comment at all mean. Yet other ppl are putting a different spin on it.
Okay.
Actually she is genius SP said
No one gets me. I don't even "get" myself.
I haven't slept in months. I am anxious and extremely angry.
I am slowly withering away. I am a walking skeleton.
I thrive on pain. When someone hates me, I feel better.
I am spiraling downward and I am about to hit rock bottom.
I just want to sleep. . sleep forever. . . -

She asked to be deleted - Simon did NOT delete her on his own, she wanted this, so let's not accuse the man of something he didnt' do.

SS - that was rude also. Please, people can we not comprehend how serious mental health is? Ever realize that nervous break downs are linked with suicide?
This entire thread is a disgrace. I think apologies are in order and a little heart.
I am going trick-or-treating, and those of you above depression think long and hard abotu the way you are behaving. One day you may find yourself hurting or on the verge of wanting to die, and when you do, don't you turn to people for support, you don't deserve it.
For your information, SP can drive me up a tree very often. So what. Who cares, we can't always get along all of the time. Just so you people know, she mentioned sleeping forever, now I dunno about you, but that sure as hell sounds serious to me.

I really hope you don't think I am blasting you Simon or trying to start trouble, I don't think Donkey is either. I feel bad for SP, to be worried you are suffering from a nervous breakdown has got to be terrifying. Your comment shocked me and I don't think you yourself realize how it came across, perhaps your comment was misunderstood? Don't you feel bad for her?
I know your purpose of this board and the more serious moderation is a result of your wanting to help people, and I know SP is in the limelight of the flames, but shouldn't that be a hint she is emotional? Please don't become hardened or judge her on past actions. I think you feel like people here gang up on you, and I for one do not. Seeign the good in everyone isn't an easy task, but SP is a good kid who is going throug ha lot right now. I don't care about her past, all I care about is that she is upset, and I know you care, too, or you wouldn't be posting here when you are on vacation.

Someone is hurting
by donkey ini am writing this thread because i hope it fosters some positive communication although i may end up being deleted for it.. to start with a discliamer: i am no fan of stinkypantz posts - they just aren't that interesting to me.. that being said i now see sp was deleted.
my first reaction to that was anger.
sp posted stuff about being close to a nervous breakdown, wishing she could just "disappear" etc....she is obviously someone in pain right now.. we have been constantly censured about how this is a place of healing and we need to keep it that way for people who need healing, support and comfort.. so i only hope sp has been "temporarily suspended" (not deleted) for her own good and no because she pissed off some moderator.

Main > People > ShortStuff What is a nervous breakdown? In the Middle Ages, it was called melancholia. In the early 1900s, it was known as neurasthenia. From the 1930s to about 1970, it was known as a nervous breakdown. "Nervous breakdown" is a term that the public uses to characterize a range of mental illnesses, but generally it describes the experience of "snapping" under immense pressure, mental collapse or mental and physical exhaustion. "Nervous breakdown" is not a clinical term. There is no psychiatric definition of a nervous breakdown, and it has nothing to do with nerves. "Nervous breakdown" is an inexact and unscientific term that is no longer used in psychiatry. Much as modern medicine breaks down diseases into more specific definitions (not just "cancer," but "stage 1 ovarian cancer"), modern psychiatry is breaking the term "nervous breakdown" into more precise diagnoses.
The diagnosis that most closely resembles what the public calls a nervous breakdown is major depression. Depressive episodes may be caused by genetic and biological factors and are often triggered by social and environmental circumstances. Depression is defined as the "loss of interest or pleasure in nearly all activities" and "sustained fatigue without physical exertion." Depression is characterized by a lack of energy and motivation along with feelings of guilt or hopelessness. It is often brought on by stressful situations, such as relationship difficulties, health problems, the aftermath of an accident or the death of a loved one.
The mental illness known as a "nervous breakdown" may also be something like panic attacks, schizophrenia, post-traumatic stress disorder or acute stress disorder.
Surveys show that about one-third of Americans feel on the verge of a nervous breakdown at some point. Studies estimate that 50-million Americans suffer some form of mental illness in their lifetime.
Depression is treated through medication and psychiatric counseling.

If you have to ask then you are most likely not having one. Your friends would know instead so you should as any offline friends you may have.
WHO ARE YOU TO JUDGE HER MENTAL STATE?
