How many JW pedofiles do you personally know?
by oldlightnewshite ini was just thinking that out of the 200 jws that i actually know, at least 4 of them to my knowledge are pedophiles.
i know for a fact, through personal confidences.
that means, as far as my circle of jovo friends/acquaintances goes, 2% of them are kiddy fiddlers.. without mentioning names or details, how many do you know of for a certainty to be pedos, and what percentage does it work out at, considering all your circle of jovo friends?.

Is their a slackening off / lack of zeal in the witnessing work that I am observing or is it just the area I`m living in
by smiddy inlast saturday i was home with my wife, having a leisurely brekky pottering around in the kitchen ,then i noticed her standing still pondering ,what`s up i asked , wife :i thought i heard someone knocking ,i looked out the window to see two middle aged guys exciting my front drive.why didn`t you tell me they were their,i didn`t hear them.
i would have engaged them in conversation , but my wife doesn`t think i ought to,just let it go ,is her motto.. but my point is : i`m not deaf , and i didn`t hear them at the door , we were both in the front room ,my wife only thought she heard someone at the door only to be proved right observing them leaving i was in my pj`s and dressing gown so was not going to pursue them.
we have been living here nearly 5 years now and i can honestly say they have never been on our doorstep more than 4 times if that , i personally have only encountered them 3 times at the most.

The question is, who of us who were baptized really ever wanted to out in FS anyway? I always hated it. I always counted my time from the time I left my house to go to the meeting for FS, because I wasn't dressing up and getting out at 8:30 am to drive to the KH just because it was the right thing to do. It was forced labor, guilt inspired. Who in their right mind wants to get up at 7:00 am on Saturday to preach to people who don't want to hear it?
I don't blame those still in for doing as little as possible. It is a way to maintain appearances, which the Borg is all about anyway, and keep the status quo.

I've been enlightened.
by Emery inive been lurking for quite sometime and now feel the need to come and noob it up.
it's taken a lot to bring me to read anything critical of the wts.
i used to glance at these apostate sites and shutter in fear because of the obvious demonic venom that can be found :) i am still an active witness and have been in this struggle to stay both in and be removed mentally from this organization.

"The media are going to spread lies about us!" (from 2012 DC audio drama of Jehovah's Witnesses)
by JimmyPage inyes during this year's audio drama about jesus' death it was said from the platform that the media is going to be spreading lies about jehovah's witnesses and that we should pay no attention to them.
did they say this at your convention location?.
also during the drama about marriage it was obvious to me that brothers are not reaching out for privileges the way they used to.

While I love the idea of putting that note in the box, I'd be rather miffed if I was the one who had to clean the graffiti off the bathroom stall! The person who cleaned it probably tacked it up to a 'mentally diseased' apostate. You probably didn't win over that person!

by so confused inthis weekend my husband got a call from his brother stating his family do not want to hang out with us anymore because we make them feel uncomfortable.
i think my husband was a little shocked and did not say much.
i'm not sure if my in laws feel the same way we will find out on friday our usual family dinner day.. so its only tuesday but looks like a productive and better week so far.

Dear So-It is always a little shocking and stunning when you realize that the community you were raised in, is willing to throw you away, because you can no longer 'tow the line' anymore. One also becomes somewhat ashamed that they shunned anyone themselves. I know I feel rather sheepish and embarassed now, knowing that I treated people the way we were ordered to by the WTBTS.
I'm glad you are having a fairly decent week and I hope you and hubby have a really nice time on his birthday!

WT Q&A Study Method
by leaving_quietly infor years, i've never understood why we read a paragraph, ask a question, and then recite what we just read in the paragraph, and at the wt study, it's an hour long period of severe boredom because, well, how many times can we recite the same stuff over and over?
even new ones who come in have been baffled at this method of teaching.
i have a theory, though.. however, i just read the "what is sacred service?

Agreeing with Blondie, I remember as a little kid, the Watchtower going on what seemed like forever and ever. Some of the studies were 30 or more paragraphs long and were supposed to be continued the next week. Everyone in the California cong. liked to answer, so the studies ALWAYS ran overtime!

Once, while in a tropical locale, there was a lovely KH built in a plantation house style. It was a gorgeous building, inside and out. It had openable windows. They were frosted! So, you couldn't see the palm trees swaying in the breeze and pretend you were outside.
