  Single mothers are bad mothers.

  i recently read an article in my local newspaper which essentially stated that single mothers were generally bad mothers and that they needed a man in the relationship.

  not significant other, just a man.

  i guess there are nosingle mothers who are lesbians!

  Years ago, I read a similiar article. It focused on child abuse. The number of times a single mother's boyfriend was the prep. in abusing/killing the child/children was horrifying. The article indicated that the real father of the children was much more likely to be a protection to the child than a boyfriend was, as the boyfriend was jealous of another man's kid.

  It reminded me of a National Geographic Special that showed male lions killing the offspring of the previous alpha male when there was a pride takeover. The new alpha wanted his DNA spread, and not the predecessors, so he mauled the cubs to death.

  There are many, many single mothers who work very hard to raise their kids.

  My House Is Broken!

  i went into the basement last night----and there was a huge crack in the wall.

  today, i checked it out further, and there is a one and a half inch gap that goes all the way outside----and there are more cracks---all the way through.

  so my house if broken.

  Wow, how scary! Is there anywhere else you can go while it is checked for safety? If there was a leak the city came back to fix, the water/sewage may have eaten out a depression under your foundation, causing structural damage. The city may be liable for damages incurred. Maybe your adjuster can advise you. I hope that everything works out okay for you. Stressful situation to be sure!

  I'm feeling rather lonely and down today.

  i'm rather down today, feeling like my relationship with husband is sad, we don't have anything in common anymore.

  i'm feeling outmoded, old and lonely.

  Lozhasleft-Sorry I didn't comment more on your post, I have people lurking around me who would be really upset to know I'm on this site, so caution is the order of the day. I do have Hassans book, hidden, so hubby won't find it. He is a good man, but he seems to have revved up his religious convictions as mine have totally disappeared, this is annoying, because he was rather complacent for many years. It is only after I've come to my senses that he has become a zealot! He is 3rd gen. and has family all over who are indoctrinated.

  The gal I'm dating frequents match.com - advice?

  i am dating a gal that i met on match.com - we saw each other first last summer, but she didn't think we were a 'match'.

  after the "pressure" was off we started hanging out quite a bit with all the benefits that go along with it.

  this went on for months.. i became smitten with her, but we weren't a couple, which she pointed out a couple of times.

  i honestly cant remember the exact date when i was baptized.

  it does not bother me one bit.

  i didnt have it stamped in that shitty reasoning book/babel that i got at the time, so i guess the only place i could find it would be my cards, which are far away..

  Sometime in the fall of 1982, I was 18. Didn't want too, but Dad threatened not to go to my wedding if I didn't. My baptism was obviously not heartfelt. Still isnt'.

  i know some dissatisified members have planned to "throw caution to the wind" when they exit and break the news as a stunning revelation of lies.

  some of my funniest memories were of teachers and others terminated but since they had to finish their contract, they decided to share their insights and horrors.

  in normal life, there is a certain allowance made under the circumstances.

  i heard a recording of a talk by a bro.

  who's topic was something to the effect of 'coincidences in the history of wtbts and jehovah's direction'.

  i believe it was an american bro., who claimed that a woman who owned a mansion in atlanta, at the time of general sherman's march to the sea, and subsequent burning of atlanta, had her mansion saved.

  Leolaia-Thanks! You definitel are a researcher extraordinare! I read portions of the Berta & Bonnie thread, but it seemed to be the wrong time period. Most likely, the person giving the talk was just spouting off something he was told, and as JW's, all trust what is told, with nothing to back it up.
