The New Diary of Winston Smith
by WinstonSmith inwe had to go off grid for a time, time and half a time as we thought we had been outed.
fortunately it was a false alarm, but it was a stressful time.
i asked for my original diary thread to be deleted in case there could be anything on there to identlfy mrs smith and i. i am always very careful when posting, and am sure there was nothing on there, but felt it best to have it removed in order to be as cautious as a dove.

Interesting read. I wish my hubby was like you. No matter how many questions I ask, that he cannot answer, he still insists the borg has the truth.

Recovery
by wha happened? insome time ago, i was finally sick and tired of being sick and tired, so i quit drinking.
i have 27 months without a drop and things are much much better.
i started to slack off on the meetings and my excuse was always, i'm better so the gap between meetings isn't as big a deal.

My Baptism Story
by DT ini have been thinking about how the events surrounding my baptism may be of some interest to this board, so here is my story.. i began to talk about baptism when i was seven, but nobody took me seriously.
i let the matter drop until i was ten.
i was persistent this time so arrangements were made for the elders to go over the questions with me.. at the time, it was customary for baptismal candidates to study the live forever and united in worship books.

It is truly sad how the borg plays upon the fears of the very young to get them baptised at a young age, an age where they are too young to really realize what they are getting into. The fear of being dead forever and of armageddon are used to manipulate impressionable kids. Child abuse actually.

Ray-I do have a question. You said the elders were not aware of this video as far as you know, but have you received any feedback from the borg itself?

I have a question too Ray: Have you gotten any feed back from the Borg about these recordings? I am sorry to say that I cannot watch them all because of the time restrictions given by internet service provider, but what I did see was captivating.

New guy on the block

This is his mom posting. I want and have encouraged him to get the education he needs to make his dream come true. Not having had direction in my own life at his age, believing goals were wrong to have, as armageddon was upon us, therefore 'worldly' goals were futile, as was 'resistance'. We have had financial discussions and he is banking his cash, preparing for his big move. I love you, sweetie.

Cuebert-Welcome. What a sad thing, to have the mementos of someone so special, seized and destroyed by a mad woman. Sidenote: my parent thought that I had demon problems (undiagnosed OCD and depression) too, they went through my possessions and got rid of anything that might be making me have my problems...but it wasn't done in a fit of anger, rather it was misdirected concern.

jam-what a sad situation. I feel so very sorry for you and your family. It is ridiculous what JW's do, and justify, in the name of 'keeping the congregation clean'. I'm sorry that you have had this come up and hurt you all over again.
