  guns.

  i am not jehovahs' witness, so thank you for allowing me this visit.

  i have friends i respect deeply who are, and much apprecaite their faith and integrity.. however i have a problem with my jehovah witness neigbors shooting guns often, five days this week.

  Does your state or county have prohibitions on noise or discharge of weapons in proximity of other houses? If so contact the police. You can also try contacting the local Kingdom Hall and ask to speak to the elders about one of the 'brothers' going there...it might not work, but it is worth a try.

  this is a portion of what the insight book says about the affair between judah and tamar:.

  therefore, subsequent to judahs becoming a widower, tamar, on learning that her father-in-law was going to timnah, disguised herself as a prostitute and then seated herself at the entrance of enaim on the road judah would be traversing.

  not recognizing his daughter-in-law and assuming her to be a prostitute, judah had relations with her.

  Extremely rude. The cemetary changing their policy after more than 3 decades of it being sufficient to deal with these idiots. Unfortunately, the JWs don't view themselves as solicitors, so the 'no solicitation policy won't phase them.

  i just saw a blurb about this auther in 'the week'.

  he was raised a jw and has written a novel based in large part on the craziness he was raised in.

  haven't read the book itself, but thought it was interesting that it is being spotlighted in a national publication.

  Welcome! The Conti case is disturbing and even more so as it is not an isolated incident. If only it would make more people think. I just watched the footloose video too and am surprised that went on at a KH. I'm thinking of sending to family members...

  Volunteering.

  since i left the watchtower a couple of years ago, i started volunteering 3 hours a week at a wecare center.

  it's like goodwill.

  well, i've been there approximately 9 months, and yesterday i received a lovely thank you card from them.

  Jeannette-It is interesting that a 'worldly' organization feels the need to justify and prove where the money goes, but 'God's" organization doesn't feel the need to give an accounting...yet in the bible, things were accounted for in temple service...all those shekels of gold and silver and copper were accounted for.

  It must have made you feel good to be appreciated and acknowledged.

  This group of mummies has fascinated me for years. They were underneath boatlike things with a large pole driven into the ground at the end. Their DNA isn't Chinese. They had little hats like the Tyrol hats of Germanic europe.

  Fascinating! He was either extremely brave or a complete fool for this endeavor. Had he been caught, he could have disappeared into an internment camp, never to be seen again. However, what he was able to smuggle out is of great interest to the rest of the world. His pictures are great! I cannot imagine being indoctrinated from before getting up in the morning until going to bed at night.

  a burial ground for the builders who worked on the construction of ancient armana, also known as akhetaten, the new city founded by akhenaten ( who may have been the world's first historically demonstrated monotheist) has been found.

  its significant (imo) because it just may add to our knowledge of akhenaten, who deserves more recognition for his attempt to change the religious culture of ancient egypt, and even in failure, may still have provided the spark that led to modern christianity.. .

  Malaysian flight crash in Ukraine VS Flight 93 in Pennsylvania

  i wonder if anybody else has wondered about the differences between those 2 flights?

  in the malaysian flight that crashed from 30,000 feet high, tons of wreckage, body parts, bodies, documents, etc, all over the place.

  yet in the pa flight 93, just a crater in the ground, no bodies, everything supposedly vaporized.

  End-I was living in PA (still do) when flight 93 came down. I was listening to a blow by blow accounting of what was going on. The radio announcer said "Flight 93 has just been SHOT down by fighter jets!" I only heard that one time. It made a lot of sense to shoot the dang thing down than let it hit another target, collateral damage, true, but understandable given the circumstances. Never heard another announcement of that.

  Four years later, I meet someone who worked at the Lehigh Valley Airport for a major airline. They were under lockdown and they were all listening to air traffic control and heard the military air traffic and heard the pilots say they had the target in range and they were given the go ahead to shoot it down. They next heard the pilots announce the plane has been shot down. The person who worked for the airlines told me they were all stunned at what they heard. He was the only credible person I've ever talked to who heard the same thing I did at the same time...

  A missile or two fired from close range, by very skilled warriors/pilots in the sky would've pulverized flight 93.

  Note: I don't care about conspiracy theories regarding flight 93, I only know what I PERSONALLY heard at the time it was happening.
