He really seems shocked and hurt. I feel bad for him. His points are completely valid.

Religous Trauma Syndrome
by Blind_Of_Lies inhttp://www.rawstory.com/2015/07/religious-trauma-syndrome-how-some-organized-religion-leads-to-mental-health-problems/ .
check this story out and please share on social media!
i firmly believe 100% of jw's are suffering from the first stage of rts and a high percentage of people who are now out are also suffering.

When I first read about RTS, maybe a year ago, by this Doctor, it felt like all of my inner feelings and pain were being described. It was amazing to learn that other people feel the same way. Thanks for posting this thread.

An excellent, very civil debate between an atheist and a JW.
by Island Man ini stumbled upon this video while doing my periodic youtube search of the keyword "jehovah".
in the video a jw (actually two jws, but only one does most of the speaking) debate an atheist.
the atheist is a mild-mannered iranian who at first seems deceptively easy and clueless (i think it has to do with the fact that english is not his first language), but soon proves he's no walkover - calmly, mildly and civilly.

Interesting that he is an atheist considering his religious background. He must feel safe from ISIS!

How many JW Families do you know of who hate each other and shun each other? "Religion of Hatred" 1.a
by The1975Blues inwhen you were attending the kingdom halls did you see feuds and hate filled wars against members working on the new personality?
how strong were the elders in keeping their halls filled with love not hatred, jesus said everyone would be filled with love, there was no room for hatred in jesus christ's view of how christians ought to act!
when you see children shunning parents, parents shunning children, aunts, uncles, grandma and grandpas displaying qualities jesus said were "instant tickets to hell" why do the jws keep attending the meetings if their filled with hate?

There is a prominent family in the Poconos, Pennsylvania that sued each other in court over the farm land they owned jointly. The mother and one son suing the other son. It made the local paper. It was withing the last 15 years.

planting seed with jw carpet salesman.
by prologos inp's remark to sales man: "you must feel right at home here like the israelites who lived on carpets and inside curtains, even the tabernacle?
layers of it ---".
p: "to think that millions trekking for 40 years did not leave a trace, nothing ever turned up?

Walking through the ruins of Native American villages in New Mexico and Arizona, there was evidence of population. Broken pottery and arrow heads littering the ground. Pictographs on the walls. Weirs to catch water. In the ruin of a house, when I sunk my hand into the ground, there were dried out beans. There were only a few dozen people to maybe 300 living in these areas at that time, but those few people left their mark on the desert. It seems over 2 million over a 40 year periods would leave something. Prologos, your argument was a reasonable one.

"Deep Down , He Knows That It is The Truth"
by BluesBrother inthis phrase i heard again at the weekend when a diehard dub was discussing his non believing, but much loved son.
"it is just that..... [insert any excuse here].
it is something that they all say about us, yet nothing could be further from the truth.

Ran into some JW's.......but this time I did the teaching ;) x
by snare&racket inso i went out today with my broken leg and got accosted by an old lady, with some magazines.. it was my first ever encounter with a jw in ten years, and i had said 'i know you are jw's, i'm not interested thank you.
" twice.....then she started talking about my broken leg and how wonderful we are made and how amazing the healing process is.... and that's when it all started...."i used to be a bethelite pioneer, now i'm an atheist doctor...".
she was with me a good 30 mins, her elder husband left very annoyed but she stayed, and she was dying to hear everything i spurted out, despite aggressively defending every point, from military engines to paedophilia.

snare-Very well done! She is definitely going to be thinking about what you said to her and how her position is untenable. I'm glad you were respectful, it was that much more powerful. Your use of scripture was excellent. I wish I was as good as you are at getting a point across...
