A young lad I knew was hit and crushed by a car while on the ministry, he sadly died a few hours later. I rememer being in total shock at the time. I recall someone saying he couldn't have died in a better situation being out in the ministry and that he died faithfully, being PIMI at the time a nodded in agreement. Knowing what i know now he would probably be alive now if he had missed ministry that Saturday morning so sad.

Front Page of Imgur Last Night
by TD instumbled across this by accident and was mildly surprised:.
https://imgur.com/gallery/m3ffm.
there's a "tipping point" phenomenon on the internet, where people and organizations that nobody knew about before, (like martin shkreli, for example) suddenly become the butt of every joke in the 30 and under crowd.

In need of your advice. November broadcasting 2017
by pleaseresearch inso my mum asked me to watch the broadcast and to my astonishment i got through it without smashing my screen haha.. so i let her know what liars they are for saying they would never deliberately distort a quotation.. she is ok for me to give her some printouts of watchtower material where this has in fact happened, contry to what they say.. where should i start and what would be your best link, or way to approach this.
i think this is a good opportunity of waking her up, if she can see that the broadcast has lied to her, she won't be happy.. any advice is you can give is so appreciated.. thanks everyone..

physical and emotional abuse from JWs
by 060702015 inis physical and emotional abuse taken seriously in jws ?
do they address this form of abuse that their members inflict on others?

Emotional abuse is what keeps the organisation alive you know what shunning is right. I agree with everything longhairgal says the members inflict emotional abuse on one another in my last cong I was often excluded, my every action criticised and talked negativley about by ones perceived to be "spiritually strong" despite them lacking very few Christlike qualities if any themselves and it wasn't for "spiritual" reasons either it was just they really didn't like our family being that we were all baptised and had good jobs no sir they didn't like that not one bit. I was upset when someone told me there was no real love in the organisation, 4 years later now I get it lol. It's all about control and unity by any means.

Making friends in the "truth"
by Jordandemm inwhat is it about making friends in the organisation am i the only one who had found it tough?
don't get me wrong there was some good people but unfortunately there was also a lot of egotism, back stabbing, jealousy and gossiping.
i could never really fit in any group, everytime i thought i had found a group it was as if i would be sidelined or ditched.

I have my flaws I admit but man I've really been done dirty undeservedly I felt. I wondered if it really was me but I now I know it wasn't. I can get along with most people just haven't quite mastered the skill of building upon meaningful relationships. Guess I'll be a social loner for now.

'Spotlight' film
by Jordandemm inhas anyone seen the film dont know if its been discussed on here, im just watching it now with my dad he is an elder, he went to do something else less than a 1/4 way through the film, he doesnt usually do that.
then he questioned why i choose to watch it not suspiciously i think he was just curious.
anyway its a film worth watching, its based on true events about the coverup of child abuse within the catholic church.

Finding time
by Jordandemm inis it possible to full time pioneer while working a full time job without making up the hours?
i know of a brother who recently got married too a pioneer the guy was really desperate to get married because his wife despite her many 'spiritual credentials' has very few christ-like qualities unfortunately, anyway that's besides the point.
he is a pioneer now and i'm sure he will be a ms soon the organisation likes that type of stuff the 'pioneer couple' so it shouldn't come as a surprise.

But where does he honestly find the time especially with taking on more responsibility? -

Just want to say hi and a big thank you to all that post in this site. It has been extremely tough waking up as a born. But in slowly removing any doubts about leaving this man made religion. How do I though go about making friends or a support group outside the religion. I've always prayed for good friends and it has never really worked out and yes I still believe in God just not the organisation ironic I know. But one thing I have notice that the JW religion even before you leave sets you up for failure, it's ever so subtle but it's so obvious at the same time and you really do believe, it's like being mentally chained to a invisible wall. I've got so much to say but I don't want to reveal myself it's far to risky at the moment.
