I used to tell myself I did. I used to convince myself, that was the way of life, it was the best way bla bla all the crap they programmed me to think.

Once I got honest, I can't think of one person, from my entire life in the JWs, who I could call friend. Not one person I could trust, not even in my family. My life didn't really start till I was 28, that's where I started to find joy, friends, family (adopted of course) real laughter, you know from the belly and the heart, etc.

But when I go back and think of love, happy, joy, comfort, etc, there nothing in my youth, believe me, I am always trying to remember some happy memory, just ONE please. My youth was fear a lot of fear, insecurity, loneliness, longing, isolation, misfit. What surprises me most about remember what it was like as a kid, how many times I thought about and planned some sort of escape. I didn't realize it then, but I was trying to break free and didn't understand what I was trying to break free from.

calab's mom is exhibiting some really psychopathic streaks in talking to him.. her facial expression is on the weird side of things.

if that is the kind of talking to i would have gotten over the years, eventually i would have saddled up, lock and loaded - at best moved out of home at an early age.. .

allright my first post messed up and i lost it some kind of way.

haven't posted on here in along time, obviously don't know how to anymore.. trying again.. so i was raised a jw, da for over a decade, of course estranged from parents and jw family, have a teenage son from a previous relationship.. anyways, i wanted to see what someone who had no first hand knowledge of the jws would think.

I just LOOOOVE to hear that people thinks it's a spoof, and the reactions to "this is REAL?" I get the biggest kick out of it!

I would just love love love to be a fly on the wall for the JWs who think it's an apostate prank, when they get it at their DC. *stares off dreamily*

thewatchtower bible and tract society has unwittingly unleashed quite a viral sensation within the ranks of its former members.

to summarise what has happened so far:- become jehovahs friend dvd is released.

it is an animated feature aimed at children with modern computerised graphics.- the antagonist of the relatively brief cartoon is a self-described warrior wizard by the name of sparlock which was obtained by caleb, the young subject of this material.- the unnamed mother in this dvd guilt-trips young caleb into disposing of his sparlock toy.- the video goes viral within the ex-jw community, with youtube videos being posted of the video.

As was pointed out by another poster on this site, we are ourselves were Sparlock. How easily our families threw us out with the garbage because the WT told them "Jehovah hates them"

Yes, he is a symbol for many different things, for many of us.
