  Despite all the faults I can find with Russell, I do think his original intentions were in the right place. Like so many human beings, and power corrupts and stuff, he lost those original intentions. In his will, he did have some good ideas for how to continue.

  Rutherford changed everything completly. He turned it into the mind control cult it is today. Everything I have found to date convinces me of that. Freddie, was just so concerned with keeping his power and position, that he was just crazy.

  in the latest kool-aid edition (november 15th), there's an insert on page 22 entitled "ways in which some choose to give".

  in this short (less than 2 page) article, the word "death" appears no less than 3, count 'em, 3 times.

  "payable on death", "transfer on death", and "bequest at death" are all mentioned.. .

  It always pays to be firm, but nice. You never know when someone will "wake up" and need help of their own. It is always nice to leave the door open, just in case. There have been great suggestions already, and I don't have any better. I always like the idea of planting a seed, so they know there is no use to keep trying, but ending with a friendly jesture.

  I keep waiting for my "study teacher" to get in touch again. I plan on doing just that. "I know too much to ever be part of that, however, you are always welcome to use my bathroom when doing field service in my neighborhood" Along that line.

  Do you view the word "Apostate as derogatory"

  i just want to know how friends feel about the word "apostate" when being used to refer to them?, do you feel relegated?..

  I used to fear that word. I used to fear apostates. Even after I woke up I still didn't want to be one. Once I really broke free, I understood. They want us to keep quiet, they want us to stay in line, they want us to keep their secrets. They are right to instill such fear, we know way too many things they can't have known. We know about way too many skeletons. We are scary, to those in charge. We can see.

  I have no fear of them, so that word holds no fear for me now. The fact that I no longer have that fear, is why I wear it proudly. I not only will not! stay quiet, I cannot stay quiet. I could not stay silent about this anymore than I could stay silent watching someone beat up a kid. I see clearly the harm that is being done. I see clearly the lies that are being used. The manipulation, the propaganda, the mind control, etc. I see.

  I can't keep quiet.

  i enjoyed this video, by an ex-jw.

  it reminds me of all the people that many of us had to leave behind to break free of the wt.

  i remain hopeful that many will continue to awaken and abandon the apocalyptic culture.

  I think sin, whether you are a bible student or not, is when you do something you KNOW is wrong, you know full well going in, but you do it anyway. Mistakes are part of imperfection. Mistakes often happen due to not thinking about if its wrong or not. In my opinion, if you willfully do it, then it counts as a bad thing. Moral, conscience, biblical, whatever.

  Totally a personal opinion by the way.

  I just see it as a way of passing more blame on the rank and file witness. They already get the heat. Witnesses take the brunt of the anger directed at the Watchtower Society.

  I try very hard to differenciate the two, when I am discussing things.

  I want to fade but ...

  i need an advice.... has been 2 months since i went to a meeting and or field service, i received a call from an elder saying that he wants my monthly report , i dont know what to do coz he is been calling me for 4 days now i dont want to answer the phone, but at the same time i feel like just sending the report.

  the question is, should i fade slowly or just stop ?

  my family isnt jw only my mom is inactive..

  Whatever you decide, just remember this. You owe them NOTHING. You have done nothing wrong. There is no reason to feel guilty, don't give them the power. Whatever they try to pull on you, just remember to tell yourself, You owe them NOTHING.

  Why Arguments and Debates on the Trinity are a Waste of Time

  this isn't meant to be a shit stirring topic, just a thought or two, a memory really, from my jw days.

  because i know i have more experience then most on debating the veracity of the trinity..... there are two camps, people of faith, and people of math.. people of faith will always be more convinced of the trinity every day, because for the most part, the teachers of the trinity are very up front about the fact that it is a mystery.. so the more you point out how illogical it is, the more a mystery the trinity becomes, and thus, it also becomes more real.
