there was a letter that i read (and i kept) when i first came to this web site, but i can't find it on the search engine. it was by a guy named "new castles", and the title of the thread was just "disassociation letter". if you can find it, read that. maybe someone can help with a link.

Jehovah's (Witnesses) STUMBLERS
by Terry inif you have influenza you shouldn't be going door to door deliberately infecting others.. if you have a screwy false idea keep it to yourself don't teach it to your kids.. if you think you have the only true religion--but--your religion keeps changing their "truth" maybe you should get a clue!.

sounds like good advice; i wasn't in the military but many in my family were. I think that my point with that regard was more geared to the officer types, the ones that go to college to be in the military (ie. the frank burns) more than the soldiers themselves. i would imagine if you went into the military now as a soldier and had the whole old school gung-ho thing going they would probably put you in a straight jacket.

You know how it used to be in our military where people who were super gung-ho would get promoted and then it started to get out of hand? (hence the character Frank Burns on MASH) ... in the sense that they realized a lot of wackos could just act super gung-ho and that would be all that they needed (as long as adequate minimal intelligence was present), to get a high rank and a comfy position? of course it dawned on the military that this was a problem and they began to correct it.
the problem with the jws is now 30-40 years later, they are still promoting all the gung-ho wack jobs and assigning them divinity. i'll just stop typing right there because i think the point is clear

Wouldn't it be cool if the pope did an expose thing like Ray Franz did?!
by Muddy Waters inwouldn't it be cool if the pope did an expose thing about the catholic church and all the heirarchies/inside secrets, etc., like ray franz did when he exposed the inner workings at the highest level of the jw religion?

Pro-JW website SLAMS apostates
by yadda yadda 2 inat the site, click on the pictures to read lengthy diatribes against apostates lol.. apostasy "seeing oneself as a victim denied" .
as a result of seeing oneself as a victim denied, there can occur a powerful drive toward disaffection and apostasy.
as is almost inevitably the case, there is a great need on the part of a leave-taker to validate their oppositional stance, and the victim-victimizer scenario greatly assists a person in justifying their course of action.

If you want to lure them here all you need is some fresh blood; they crave blood (the ms and elders) ,many of them. what i mean by that is, people (especially women but also men) who are scared and indecisive, that are possibly also in the midst of some trouble with them--if they hear those people voicing dissent it drives them into a blood frenzy in some cases. reminds me of that line from frisky dingo where the girl says "please don't kill me" to killface, and he replies, "please don't make it so appealing". it's the same concept, scared girl ends up saying all the wrong things, makes them want to sink their teeth in all the more. the more decisive and angry you are the less you see that, because then they can just say: "look at how crazy those apostates are", but if you speak in a meek tone and are very indecisive but you are leaning toward the fact that the elders are in fact wrong, oh god, blood frenzy.

Give me one day in court, and I will completely and comprehensively --layer by layer--eviscerate these folks. I am a wildman? what would i want with a courtroom then? are wildmen given to a preference of law rather than violence?
Let me lay down the premise in the most succinct possible way.
#1 - It is pretty much a given that when you accept a religion such as this--you are going to be giving yourself to the religion with 100% faith and acceptance of all doctrine; that is pretty much a given correct? ie. it would be rare to find someone that has doubts about specific issues, and then just all of the sudden says ok i'll get baptized, correct?
With that said, and also with the understanding that you are accepting the role as "sheep", would it not also be a given that you are basically putting your life in the hands of these (elders) without any reservation? ie. with your guard down completely.
Now, let's use an analogy. If Mike Tyson (in his prime) went into a match and decided that he didn't need to guard himself, what do you think would happen? (I use Tyson as an example to show that even the strongest person alive cannot survive the proceeding metaphor)--what would happen? what would happen is even a fairly weak punch could possibly knock the man out. And in contrast, if a person went up AGAINST Tyson, and decided to use *no* cover, what do you think would happen? (if you know anything about fighting or boxing you should know) one punch would be a death sentence basically.
Path: p
We know that in the JW Cult, keeping your guard up is a no no. Keeping your guard up is tantamount to being an apostate because you will be "asking questions", and you will be thinking rationally? which many times conflicts with JW teaching? So, little sheep, you better keep your guard down or we are gonna get you.
The fact is if they want to *get* you, you are as the man standing in the ring with Tyson, saying "I better not put my guard up or he might label me an apostate", boom dead.
We know that not only do elders speak abusively to many in the cong (literally 100,000's of examples), but that they also do things like disfellowship innoncent people? people who have given 100% faith to the fact that the "holy spirit" is directing things.
We have also shown that god cannot be convicted of evil, and we have defined evil....yet we have 1000's of instances of elders behaving in ways that would fall into the category of "evil"? it is pretty clear cut that we have all of the evidence to show that the following points in this outline prove some very VERY serious charges to be 100% legitimate.
These three points illustrate that: 1. you must at all times believe everything you are fed or you will be suspect and 2. elders commit evil , and 3. a person that is not at least on some guard while taking a punch, will be affected +1000% in damage, as compared to the normal person that uses some discernment and balances themselves with a degree of defense. (and again there is no defense in this org defense is apostasy)
#2 Whether you like it or not, the world we live in is dangerous (even before you get to all of the psychopaths). The events in space can at ANYTIME obliterate our entire planet, and there is non-stop violence occurring in space every second. Whether it is the storms on Jupiter, or the collisions of galaxies, supernovas, you name it. Creation and destruction are both violent in all cases.
Now what would you say about a human being that did not have some mastery over the absolute essence of the world he/she belonged to? would you call that person a fool? I definitely would. And, what would you say about the people who demanded that other human beings completely strip themselves of defense mechanisms that may at times be violent in word or deed? From a completely objective viewpoint what would you think? I know what I would think. I would think that these people have some serious control issues and are trying to manipulate other people into being complete slaves?
This is just the tip of the iceberg.

We Are Not Living in 1937

now that doesn't remind me of anything... .

i'll never forget when i was younger and first studying with one part of my family...was living at home about 19 years old, and one of my step family members kept ignoring me when i would talk directly to them, and i'm like wtf? i didn't understand what was happening, and i remember like waving my hand at this person like hello? and i noticed their face began to get so red and veins started coming out of neck etc. i was like woa wtf satan? and i went up to talk to a family member and i said you know, so and so is ignoring me while i talk directly to them......it was only few years later after i moved out that i realized that person was taking it upon themselves to shun me, and the notion that i would wave my hands and all this, was like a big no no apparently, that is why then i realized they were so enflamed with anger. the person probably caught me wanking or something....what an absolutely bizarre life. one of the other members of the step family had serious mental problems (like schizo), and he would come out of the bathroom and say things like "i promise i was not masturbating!!" lololol....omg i am so fucked up in the head forever.

Practical Problems Arising From Leaving Jehovah's Witnesses - not on jw.org
by InterestedOne inwhat practical problems arise from leaving jehovah's witnesses?
this question was inspired by a poster whose jw friend refused to be a reference for an apartment.
i wonder if most jw's know deep down that they need to maintain some ties with non-jw's in case they find themselves either deciding to leave or ostracized for some reason..

One of the most important life lessons is that real happiness comes from a combination of having a strong family, and giving service to something greater than yourself. this can actually give you true sustainable happiness.
everything else is really just fads. even sex in a way, if you have been sexually frustrated in the jw org and go out and start going sex crazy, even that wears off. what happens is it becomes more of a necessity , becomes an addiction if you lean on it too hard, and it will not give you happiness over time. anything that is not in the first sentence is just a vice that brings a temporary rush. it would be similar to buying a new ferrari; right away yea you will be really hyped, but over time, it isn't nearly the kick that it once was. and then what, as the years go by it just becomes less and less valuable.....pretty much anything that is outside that first sentence is going to fall all in this same category of being a quick rush that really won't do much for you overall.
happiness is a fundamental practical matter, shouldn't even really call it happiness, more like relative contentment. if you don't feel that you have some connection with a relative contentment and you leave the organization, it may be ugly. i know that if i didn't have what i have going on, and i just had some very minor responsibilities and not much else, (as well as the family and friends that have been telling me to get out of there for years) ,i would just dwell on all the negativity that the WT put into my life, and probably jump off a building. not trying to make a joke out of it at all. because from their perspective, you are now to be shunned and all that, so if you don't have something significant to step into , then you got a bunch of people thinking they are benefiting you by trying to make you feel like the biggest dick on earth....just could see how ugly that would get.

bottom line is it is a glitch in the system that is all the rage. the "friends" figured out that if they are jealous of someone collectively, if they collaborate and complain about the person's dress or any little thing that they can pick out, they figured out it will give them a channel for their jealousy so that it doesn't eat them out from the insides. they figured out that if enough of them say the same thing, then the elders will say "well this is how the congregation feels about it so"....they must be right, let's join em and take a stand. buffoons. sex appeal doesn't sit well with the "friends" as if it were a choice made at some point by the individual. sex appeal = one of the greatest sins of all. sex is just absolutely demonic basically. especially when you weigh 400lbs and can't get any, then it is *extremely* demonic and the person should be taken out and stoned in the parking lot.
