  what is the wts's current view on resurrection of disfellowshipped people?

  a few years ago, an older sister's df'd son died of aids in sf.

  when she and her unbeliever husband returned from the funeral, she said "he is in jehovah's hands.

  What is the WTS's current view on resurrection of disfellowshipped people? A few years ago, an older sister's df'd son died of AIDS in SF. When she and her unbeliever husband returned from the funeral, she said "he is in Jehovah's hands." (people were actually reminding her that he wouldn't get a resurrection) At the time, I thought she was bonkers, but came to believe she was right, while I was still an active JW.

  I am asking because my cousin (who is more of a sister to me)is dying of cancer......she has less than a year, I am quite sure. One of her three sons is still a dub, and his wife and three young children, all under 4, also. Are they telling those children that their grandmother will not be resurrected?

  I know there is nothing I can do to change that belief, for them, but I wonder if that is what they believe still. Afterwards, I want to be able to talk to those kids. I know they are really young, but these things impact a young child for life, and I want to be able to do SOMETHING about it eventually.

  my husband would love to be able to listen to them, as he is on the road a lot and doesn't get much of a chance for *personal study* (grin).

  Losing Loved ones to Death While in the Org..

  did anyone lose beloved family members or friends to death while in the org?

  if so, how did you feel about it once you came out of the cult and figured out that everything you'd been taught about the new system coming soon, and loved ones being resurrected was a big fat lie you'd been spoonfed?

  how did you feel and react to that?.

  I am surprised at how many of you are saying the resurrection was a comfort to you.

  My brother's wife and baby died in 1977. It was all such a horror, to the whole family, and her teenage daughters, who just wanted their mother back. The resurrection hope made me angry back then.

  When my grandmother died, I missed her so much, and the resurrection was so far away. And on and on.

  i must be honest here, one of the main reasons that i chose to depart the jws was so that i could have more sex.

  actually, thats not quite true, when i say have more sex, i really mean to say have sex with more girls.

  For Bendrr: When Englishman was 22 years old, bell bottoms were very much in style. The outfit he described sounds really funny now, though. I look at photos from that time and wonder "what were we thinking?"

  I think all a young guy would have to do now, is go to the Mall, or a high school, and he would be really "happy" at the response. Times have changed.

  now although i'm much better looking than sylv and have a far better physique ho ho ho, i still phoned me old jw mum just to remind her that i still exist.

  This is sure describing me. For my entire adult life, I have felt fat, except for a few years, that I had it under control. Size 12 is ideal for me, and I am really pretty thin as a 12, size 10 minimum. I am a 16 now, and having a hard time finding a dress for my sons wedding in TWO weeks. I think I have one now, but it's been a difficult search. The larger sizes go so fast from the racks, and all that's left are 6, 8 and 10. Very discouraging, when you need it NOW. Looking back at the photos of myself in my 20's and 30's, I always felt like I was so grossly overweight, because I was a 12 or a 14. I look so good in those photos. It was always just a 10 pound issue to get back to the 12. Why did I make it so important?
