I also was a regular on H20, and told Venice about that one, after her exodus from the Borg. Later when H20 changed to the more difficult format, she sent me links to posts on this board.
In March, when I was in Hawaii, on vacation with my laptop, this year, I started posting too. I had been reading here for awhile, but still using the new H20. (by the way, it was a rainy, windy day in Hawaii......I'm not that stuck to my computer)

my observation is that persons who 1) heal/adjust the most rapidly from their jw experience and 2) seem to have the most joy in life are those who read, read, read, in pursuit of what i call nourishment for the spirit.
i've really enjoy the pithy aphorisms you use here, which suggests you've distilled some wisdom from somewhere.
i'm going to ask your help in this thread.

The Dancing Wu Li Masters, by Gary Zukav, is about channeling. It was weird. I don't discount that at all, but his account was not believable to me.

i seem to recall that on this summer's district assemblies there is an experience given about a woman who was involved in various voluntary community services, but quit them and became a pioneer.
does anyone remember this?
if so, can anyone provide more solid documentation?.

I posted about the Dancing Wu Li Masters. I was thinking of another book, about Lao Tzu. The Dancing Wu Li Masters was weird. Can't say I agree with it AT ALL!!!

i have a question that no elder has given me a good explanation on.
how do the anointed jehovah's witnesses become that way.
i heard that somehow their spirit is born along with the holy spirit.
"One hope, one faith, one baptism." Everyone is annointed.
It was the WT society that came up with the second hope.

it appears she is accepting the watchtower driven interpretations of the bible, but we are still not giving up.
if you are willing, would you respond, in a nutshell, to the question, "what is the doctrine or belief that the jw's hold that was most instrumental in leading you to abandon this religion?
Well, this was the main one for me. It's the one that made me open to questioning, I should say.
The Faithful and Discreet Slave class. Answer these questions:
1. When Jesus ascended to heaven, who did he appoint as his successor?
(the correct answer is "no one") JW's will say this, unless they are uninformed about doctrine.
2. Then who did he say was coming to help, after he was gone?
(the holy spirit)
3. Who have placed themselves in the successor role?
(Faithful and Discreet slave)
When I was taken through that question and answer session, it started to unravel for me, because I knew they see themselves as his spokesman on the earth now. And Jesus himself, appointed no earthly mouthpiece.

I must admit, Alan IS very young looking, as well as quite brilliant, and I for one, was shocked when I learned how old he is. I thought he was no more than 35.
