"Well Rounded JW Kids"
by LDH inwell, my parents (from ny) came out to visit a couple of weeks ago, no notice or anything (they live 3,000 miles away) and knocked on my door on a friday evening.. as hubby was not home from work yet, and i was laying down from yet another migraine, i got extremely agitated when the doorbell rang.
now, i don't open my door for anyone when i'm not feeling well.
to make a long story short, it was my parents, who spent about 6 days.

That is so funny. Thank you for posting. I love the part about jumping up and down on your mother's head!! I only wish...... Mothers are the worst I think. Mine has always been a problem to me, and we were ALWAYS Jehovah's Witnesses too, from the time I was five years old. My husband likes to tell people who are JW's about her, and how the "truth" had no transforming power on her at all. When my daughter was about 5 years old, I read a book called "My Mother My Self" trying to STILL deal with my mother in a sane manner. But, the irony of that book is that it helped me to be a much better mother to my daughter than mine was to me. My daughter is now 31, with two children, and we are extremely close, and she has my permission to tell me when I am acting, or talking, like my mother. I also have three sons, and have a great relationship with all my children, all who are no longer JW's. The boys, also, can tell me when I sound like grandma. She has alienated all of her family now. But, it's us, not her. Oh no! Never her.

More on Prince
by Mulan ini talked to my jw friend today.
she and her husband were studied with by larry graham, in california, about 10 years ago, or more.
i asked if she knew anything about prince being a jw, and she said that their son went to visit the grahams in minnesota a year ago, and met prince at their home, and that he had been studying then, for about a year.

I saw them on Oprah a couple of years ago, and they said the baby died shortly after birth and had many birth defects. They were devastated. He is married to someone. Who is it?

I meant to say before, that I made a LOT of money on eBay selling old WT's and Golden Age mags, and Faith on the March, a couple of old Paradise books. More stuff too. Sold the Golden Age magazines for $40 EACH. Old WT's for $8. Faith on the March went for $87. Finished Mystery went for $48. Cool place to sell stuff. Before you price a book, I suggest you search to see if anyone else is selling it too. I had mine way too low, until I did that, and was able to fix it. After the bidding starts, you can't do that.

When I was a pioneer, I had a big page of jokes in my bookbag, for rainy days. It must be around her somewhere! Aha! I found it.
When Ezekiel is resurrected, why will he not be allowed to apply to Bethel?
This is a non-profit organization (okay, I know it's prophet)What prophetess spoke God's word, died faithful, but will never have a resurrection?

Hi Sunbeam,
Welcome aboard. Everyone here has a story, and we are happy to hear yours too. My mother is an 88 year old, died in the wool JW, and there is no way she will ever change. She drives me crazy, and at this point in my life, I am avoiding her to keep my sanity. I keep "losing it" when I am with her, so it's best for me to just stay away. I agree with the last poster that it is best to let it drop. Too old to change, and it wouldn't be good for them. For me, it would lay a huge problem at my feet, if she were to leave the organization. She would be all my problem again. Right now, she is theirs, and they can have her!! Don't lecture me anyone!! She isn't your mother, and you don't know what I go through. A good friend has called her a "toxic mother" and I think that pretty well describes her. -

I sold a ton of things on ebay. And we took loads more to the dump. Amazing how much room in our house it freed up. We kept some things, but not much. We have the library on CD ROM, so didn't need the individual copies, and some aren't on the CD either, but who needs it? Their material isn't worth referencing for the most part. Some were just taking up valuable space and we didn't want to see them anymore. I had one big box, that I sold off of the H20 board too.

I was affected the same way as JT. My husband had learned many of the "truths" about things, and had read both Franz books, and shared with me, but I was resistant to it all. Finally I saw what he saw, but we both still wanted to be in the organization, since it was our whole life. We did lessen our responsibilities though, and he resigned as an elder, but we kept going. After reading C of C, I wanted out. There was just NO WAY I could stay and even try to help anyone. I just had to seperate myself. It took another 6 months to do it, but we did it. We only went to book study after that, but then quit that too. That was four years ago. WE ARE FREE.
