I love them all! A few drops of hot pepper sauce in soups, bread batter, or anything else, acts as a flavor enhancer. It's the secret to my best soups, stews, casseroles, cornbread, and biscuits.

Maybe your blood pressure is low. Have you had it checked recently? I used to have fainting episodes for that reason.

What do you miss from yesteryear?
by greendawn ini met a childhood friend recently and he told me with nostalgia that he recalled the childhood days as being very pleasant.
i told him they would be since we were living under the protection of our parents who took care of all our needs and we had no worries about anything.
it would be like paradise.

25-cent movies
Woolworth
My grandmother's freshly churned butter, homemade jam, fresh tomatoes and other vegetables from the garden
Watching my grandpa make and repair things with his saw, drill, plane and bits and pieces
Big, ostentatious cars
Jobs for everyone - good jobs, union jobs, with enough pay to support a family
Front and back porches with swings and gliders
The sounds of children playing outside in every neighborhood

Hallelujah ... she's leaving the Borg!
by Frequent_Fader_Miles inmy online friend who was baptized at 12 years old has finally decided she couldn't make it as a jw anymore.
with 2 dfs and major depression under her belt, no longer will she be living her life for the elders.
until armageddon comes" since she's a goner anyway (serving jehovah with wrong motivation, not out of love).. her father recently died, .

Whoopi Goldberg on The VIew
by changeling inshe actually came out in defense of michael vick.
she said in some parts of the south dog fights are common so we must understand where he's comming from.. well, in some parts of the south people discriminate against african americans.
are we supposed to excuse them, understand them?
-
Mum
Not everything is justifiable just because it is part of the culture. In this case, I'm not so sure it is. I'm from the South, and my family is totally the dictionary definition of the culture; but, of all the redneck activities they loved, I never heard of any of them going to a dog fight.

How would you answer this jw?
by dedpoet ini've been having an online conversation with an active jw (it has to.
be online, none of the local ones speak to me).
i said this, about jws.

Mum
Many JW's are trapped because they don't want to lose contact with their families - not just the mental stuff.

God help me - Just finished Crisis of Conscience
by Orgull ini don't know whether to laugh or cry.. a friend lent me coc yesterday and i stayed up most of the night reading it.
it took me 13 hours and i skipped the meeting today to keep reading, i couldn't bear to put it down.. i am shocked but not surprised at how closely ray's thinking mirrors my own in some ways.
the part that hit me hardest was.... "conviction, it has no meaning or validity unless it is individual, personal.

: I'm having that very problem. I've missed both meetings now since reading it. I don't know if I can face going back at all.
Orgull, my friend, you seem to be stepping up the pace of your fade. Those baby steps aren't working anymore, eh? Are you prepared for the phone calls and visits that might result?
Maybe you have chronic fatigue syndrome or need a long vacation (a change of air, as they said in the old days) and need to be left alone.
Can you handle direct confrontation, or do you need some space?
What do you think you're going to do next? Keep us posted.
Regards,
SandraC

Meeting unknown ex dubs for first time
by greendawn ini personally haven't met any ex jws for many years now, but if you happened to meet one you never met before what's the interaction like?
is there a sense of identity and solidarity due to a common past or no special chemistry going on?
would you pursue a friendship with such a person?
-
Mum
My experience has always been positive, even with ex-dubs with whom I share little in common. It's just like there is a bond I have with my sister (who is very different from me) because we were abused by the same parents.

You can be Disfellowshiped for being too FAT!!!!!
by Witness 007 inwatch 74 p.167 "by disobediently overindulging in food and making a glutton of himself, he fails to show love for jehovah god...is food a big thing in his life?
if in the presents of others, does he selfishly ignore thier needs and take far more then his share?
is he grossly overweight but shows no restraint at all as to food, habitually gorging himself?

I watched a YouTube video in which Rick McFerrin (sp?) called WT headquarters to ask your very question. The "brothers" claimed they did not know. They must need deniability. I don't know why because Prince is better behaved than many Prominent Dubs.
