by truth_b_known ini just spent 30 minutes writing this story and lost it all before i hit submit.

PEER PRESSURE!!! I gave in to Pioneering during August...I feel dirty...
by stuckinarut2 inok, i'll admit it...i am weak.... as everyone knows, the pressure to "pioneer" during "the most momentous, awesome, amazing, centenary anniversay of jesus invisble kigdom rule, & distribute tracts about a dodgy website" campaign is very strong at the moment.... also, many will have read my threads about the extreme views and expectations in our cong for "all appointed men to pioneer" etc..... every elder and ms and their families have been announced as pioneering....i mean everyone's name was read out except mine..... i was not going to do it, as i do not believe anyone should be forced...(and of course its the last thing on earth i would rather do anyway since learning ttatt).
but i am not quite ready to make the break yet, so i realised that i would stand out more if i didnt put in a form to pioneer.
yes it would make me more conspicious, and make fading harder to do...it would bring more heat on me if i didnt pioneer.. so i gave in and submitted a form.... now, of course, i'm only going to make sure i'm seen at the key field service groups etc...but then go and do something more interesting...like count blades of grass..... ahh....i feel hypocritical to myself now......

Maybe you could slip a small piece of paper inside the tract with JWFacts' web address.
Otherwise, take your time, walk slowly between houses, sit and chew the fat with householders about non-JW stuff, take frequent breaks, take along something to amuse yourself, and write a journal about your experiences. Then share all the info with us. I hope it's fun and interesting.

The two elders want to visit my sister the next saturday (this is the third visit)
by opusdei1972 ini phoned my sister and she told me that the elders called her to visit her again the next saturday morning.
you can read the issues discussed in the past two visits:.

Your sister does not need to meet with them if she does not want to. If she wants to, she needs to be well prepared for the possibility that they are coming to find out if she is still "loyal to the organization," and to measure her response very carefully. Personally, I would make it clear to them that I stood by what I said earlier and saw no need for further discussion.
If the elders want to visit somebody, one cannot know in advance what their motive is, but there's at least a 99.99999% chance that it is not to tell you that you've been a "good girl or boy."
Please keep us posted as to whether she meets with them and what the outcome is.

What an inspiring young woman! Strangely enough, in the '50's and '60's (and maybe later, too), the WTS encouragedf musical pursuits because they had live music at the assemblies and, I believe, at the Kingdom Hall as well. Kelsey did what she had to do to become who she really was, and she is wonderful!

A thought about the convention: Anticipate Future Blessings...
by wisdomfrombelow inone of the parts had a skit with 3 or 4 young brothers playing a game of "what i will look forward to in the new system".
one wanted a house by the beach.
one wanted a house in the forest.

The "New World/System/Order" or whatever thery're calling it now gives no incentive for achievement, development, challenge or anything that keeps life from being humdrum and completely boring. Apparently, there is no adventure, or anything to write books or plays about, no passion -- in short, a "life" with no life in it.
As you say, they need to get busy doing whatever they want to do NOW because their future is devoid of opportunity.
Your post reminds me of what one of my Spanish professors once asked: Would you really want to spend eternity with the people at Highland Park Baptist?

Where's Jesus When You Need Him-Cant He Defend His People From Islam?
by fulltimestudent inone of the oldest remaining christian groups in the world is close to being wiped out by the isis sunni caliphate.. the 'sort-of' history called, 'acts of apostles,' tells us that on the day of pentecost, among those who were in jerusalem on that day and supposedly witnessed the coming of the ns, were (acts 2:9), among others:.
"parthians and medes and elamites and the inhabitants of mesopotamia ...".
it's claimed that many of these people became christians before they returned home, and a christian church was formed early in the beginnings of christianity/.

Interesting that you brought this up. This morning I was babysitting my great granddaughter and went to YouTube to find her some videos to watch. In the course of my searches, I accidentally ran across a video about a Muslim man who somehow "saw" Jesus and converted to Christianity. So then I typed into the search bar something like "Muslum man saw Jesus," and a long list of video's came up with stories about Muslim encounters with Jesus and subsequent conversion to Christianity.
So I tried the opposite search and typed in something like "Christian converts to Islam." A list of videos came up, but none of them referred to a person having "seen" Mohammed or anything else hinting at the supernatural.
I haven't drawn any conclusions, but I find the whole idea fascinating!

You need to ask the WTS. I don't think anyone here thinks the way they do.

The one thing I miss apparently no longer exists. I miss four days of no food preparation or housework. It was the JW version of a "vacation."

Today's "gay-bashing" and other embarrassing content public talk!
by stuckinarut2 inoh wow..... the public talk today is certainly embarrassing for witnesses!.
started (completely left field too...seemed to come out of nowhere) with condemning homosexuality, and anyone who even tolerates it.
if you like tv shows or movies with gay characters, you are "just as bad" (eg modern family tv show).

One of my college English teachers pointed out that most people do not want to open their minds, but simply to have confirmation of what they already believe. My daughter's in-laws, who are actually very nice, tolerant people in most ways, are very religious and anty-gay. Now they have a gay grandson. I don't know if their relationship with him has changed, but they must be struggling with it.
We all know people who refuse to accept reality. I have reminded my sister many times that being gay does no harm to anyone and there's no need for her to be concerned about it.
On the TV show Northern Exposure some years ago, a character made a statement that it is heterosexuals who are "riding down life's highway at a high rate of speed without a helmet."

I Would Like To Know More Clearly Anthony Morris's Demon Phobic Stand On Smurfs Being Demonized And Sparlock Type Toys
by frankiespeakin indoes anybody have any recordings about him speaking about his phobia?
i heard his warning about some type of uncanny powers to beware of but forget what exactly.
any way i'm sure we can all blame the anti sparlock type toy video on him so he must have this unreasonable phobia and it would be good to highlight this in his bullshit talks..

I wonder why demons would be interested in toy design. Maybe there's not much going on in the invisible world, so they go around "inspiring" designers. I love modern furniture, the sleek, minimalistic kind that is easy care and still comfortable. Since it's something I enjoy, the demons must be behind it. Much of this type of furniture was designed by Danes, and Danes are at the top of the happiness scale. Demonized Danes delighting me with their demon-inspired creativity! Those demons should design some nice affordable homes.
