Wow! I got a glimpse of my former self - euphoric on a delusion. The idealist in me loved seeing the international flavor of the graduation and made me wonder if JW's in other countries are having the problems of JW's in the west. The "music" was horrible; it reminded me of the comments made in Gary Botting's "The Orwellian World of Jehovah's Witnesses" about the "barking rhythm" the JW "songs" have. My heart goes out to these lovely people who have been deceived by the governing body ogres and slick Madison Avenue tactics of the Watchtower. The Thai children were just adorable!

The problem is that good little witnesses set a trap for themselves. They only marry witnesses; they brainwash their children; they don't even create an "escape hatch" for unforeseen occurrences. No one knows for sure what was happening in Michael's personal life to lead to such despair and hopelessness. I read that the elders were harassing him and encouraging his wife to divorce him. It got to be more than the poor man could bear. What a tragedy!

There was a time when people, mostly women, were at home. This partly accounts for the oversupply of female JW's. These days, people are at work, dining out, participating in "extracurricular" activities. The door-to-door method is antiquated at best. Maybe JW's need to be more like the churches in trying to make converts, with old-fashioned ice cream socials and the like.

Brainwash them while they're still young and think you know everything! Don't teach them critical thinking, but how to be a good drone. Never mind great poetry, great prose, great books, great music, learning in general. The important thing is bare survival and regurgitation of fantasy beliefs.

Who do you think the DEMONS are?
by raymond frantz inthe watchtower teaches that the demons are the angels that came down here on earth right before the flood but research shows otherwise in this video i consider the identity of demons.if you never looked in this subject you will find this interesting ,let me know what you think.

The demons are the leftover figments of the imagination of ancient, ignorant people who had no explanation for disease, bad behavior or unexplainable occurrences. They give an easy explanation of things we can't understand.

What have you forgotten you ever even knew?
by Simon inat a certain point, as the years tick by, you start to realize that you have forgotten a lot of things.
typically, something you learned, some knowledge or skill you used to have, that you just haven't used for so long you no longer remember anything but that you once knew it.. i saw an article about electrical resistors the other day, and how the colored bands signify the rating.
now all i remember is that i used to know it, and that resistors do something with, erm, electricity ...

Disfellowshipping
by jhine inso last night my bible study group was discussing the healing of the blind man in john's gospel.
ch 9 .
the man's parents were reluctant to say much on the subject.

Barbara Grizutti Harrison compared the JW's to the medieval Catholic Church. As time goes on, they become more and more like Catholics (but a lot more cruel and heartless). I don't know where they came up with the idea of "disfellowshipping." Barbara Grizutti Harrison was an American journalist, ex JW, who wrote a book called "Visions of Glory: A History and a Memory of Jehovah's Witnesses."

I once read a book entitled "The History of the End of the World." Oddly, JW's were not mentioned. The funniest story was about a "cargo cult" on some South Pacific island. They noticed that the English didn't do any work, but sat at desks writing on paper, and, somehow, that made the ships come with supplies. The natives tried everything they could to imitate the English, sitting at desks, sometimes with flower vases (which they believed might have some magical power), writing illiterate scrawl, but to no avail. Finally, they got representatives to go ask the English their "secret" because they had been Christians for many years but had no luck making the ships come.
