In Ray Franz' book, he discusses the issue of Jesus as mediator. There was "new light" on this apparently some time in the 1980's. The "great crowd" can no longer claim Jesus as their mediator, according to current WT theology and what Franz wrote. I can't imagine what kind of convoluted Bible flipping brought them to this bizarre notion. As I remember, the scripture says there is one mediator between God and man, and that mediator is Jesus. But the Watchtower's whole point is to replace Jesus with their morally bankrupt organization.

study set with p.o. 1-18-03 at high NOON
by johnny cip in.
ok. i called the p.o.
and smoothed (pressured) him over, he will be here at noon saturday... my brother and i have worked him over on the phone , and he already admitts he can't prove jesus choose the wt in 1919 etc etc...as he can't get the older wt's.... so he's speaking presumptuously...... i did a little studying today , and he is in big trouble... we will keep him on the subject, at all costs... and the subject will be false prophecies of the wt... i have decided to just wing it, and throw out all kinds wt rotten food.... mike is hot over here and i'm quite sure we can have his head spinning in short order.... we are going to hit the finished mystery book hard... but i am open for any ideas to put the last nail in his coffin....john

IDIOT AWARDS FOR THE YEAR.....
by Mary inneed a good laugh?
here are the awards for idiots of the year........... .
when his 38-caliber revolver failed to fire at its intended victim during a holdup in long beach, california, would-be robber james elliot did something that could only inspire wonder: he peered down the barrel and tried the trigger again.

Mary, what is your source for these stories? I want to share them and will be asked where "I" found them.
Thanks!

AWAKE Says We Shouldn't Judge Apostates!
by minimus inthe february 8, 2003 awake has an article entitled:"is there an unforgivable sin".notice the good news for apostates or those who once associated.
"some people who were once faithful christians have purposely drawn away from god, perhaps because of bitterness, pride, or greed, and are now apostate fighters against god's spirit.
they willfully oppose what the spirit is clearly accomplishing.

Mum
So, let me get this straight: the unforgivable sin is not any of the following:
Pedophilia
Child abuse
Misleading millions of people with false prophecy
But the unforgivable sin may be:
Thinking
Leaving an organization that protects pedophiles
Informing others of Watchtower error
I think I'll go in the "unforgiveable" column, thank you.

Has anyone noticed . . .
by ProveAll inhowdy all,.
has anyone noticed that some jws (prematurely) will run to debate the "trinity", "hell", "immortality of the soul", but they head for the hills when someone brings up the watchtower's present claims which are supposed to show why god approved and appointed them over all his belongings?
i find that when jws do become unwittingly involved with such a discussion, they practice a method of bait and switch.

Welcome to the forum, ProveAll. Interesting post.
Farkel makes an excellent point about "disbeliefs" vs. beliefs. As our once-upon-a-time regular poster Jan Haugland pointed out to me, you can't prove a negative. Therefore, it is incumbent on the believers to prove or at least show that the preponderance of the evidence (to be a bit legalistic) is on their side.

Help she is trying to get to my son PART 2
by Jesika ini meant to put this in friends..................................................... .
well, i left my mom's/stepdad's house tonite.
i got home not long ago.. .

Jesika, I wish you the best. But I hope you know to be prepared for anything. Outcomes are not always what we expect, and even judges can misjudge character.
The important thing for you to remember is to describe behaviors which hurt your son. Leave feelings and speculation out of it. If you haven't done so already, make a list of destructive behaviors exhibited by this person in the past, with time frames as accurate as possible. Your attorney will need any and all FACTS you have at your disposal, preferably in writing. It's a lot of work, but it's worth it.
Keep us posted.

My son is starting karate!!!
by Aztec ini'm so excited about this and so is he.
he is a very hyperactive and impulsive child (takes after his mom.
he loved it!!!
-
Mum
My granddaughter started karate a couple of months ago. She is 13. She resisted mightily at first, but now she loves it. Sometimes I think the martial arts are becoming a replacement for religion. Martial arts students learn respect, restraint, goal setting, and the motto, "Character, integrity, self control, perseverance, indomitable spirit."
I hope your son enjoys karate and earns all of the belts!

Lost My Job
by Yizuman innew manager named rod came in at wal-mart this week monday.
today he got a call from marsh's office building asking for business references and apparently that pissed him off.
i had dropped off a resume at the marsh office building around 1 1/2 weeks ago or so... he called me into his office via one of the customer service manager (csm) who asked me to follow her.

Sorry about your job loss. The suggestions so far have been great. One more: Look into temporary work. There are lots of temp jobs out there, especially if you live in a well populated urban area. Some of them pay better than so-called permanent, regular jobs. If you can do clerical work, that's a plus. If not, there are lots of "light industrial" temp jobs that require minimal skill and training. I have had many temp jobs, and most have led to regular employment.
Keep us posted.

Labels for Mags
by DINKY inhey, i wanted to share my latest brilliant idea for pissing off dubs.
i frequently see the mags in the usual public places: doctor's/dentist's office, supercuts, etc.
i didn't want to throw them away 'cuz then the idiots would just leave more - and get to count them as placements.
-
Mum
You're doing right, Dinky. Someone who posts here makes up labels with the Silentlambs web address on them. I see the magazines in laundromats from time to time. I write the following on the front:
http://www.silentlambs.org 1-877-WTABUSE (Silentlambs' toll-free number)
1-800-WHY-1914
When I go back to these same laundromats, there is a disappointing absence of Watchtower literature, so I have to go back to "informal witnessing."
Keep up the good work!
