  District Assembly Instructions

  am i too thin-skinned or does anyone find that annual km insert dealing with the district assembly offensive???.

  i mean, having to read and comment on those same things every year about not cooking in your hotel room, not to steal food if breakfast is offered, not to poop in the sinks, or whatever they say.

  if you have to give those "reminders," it makes you wonder about the people you are sitting next to during the sessions.. *****rub a dub

  Like Outlaw, this is news to me about Society-sanctioned hotels! Bizarre, bizarre!

  About the time I exited in 1979, they had started assigned seating, with members of a particular congregation together, at assemblies. Does this still go on?

  Of course, the reason there are so many assemblies is to keep JW's busy while they're on vacation so they can't relax and enjoy themselves and realize the joys of "worldly" life. My JW experience came to mind when I was watching one of those "mafia" movies (it might have been "Married to the Mob") in which the main character/narrator says something to the effect that members of the organized crime families didn't even go on vacation with their families; instead, they went as a large group and kept an eye on one another. Being "organized" in a high control "organization" certainly does inhibit one's ability to be able to figure out what is considered "appropriate" by their puppet masters.

  I love being disorganized. I am always making the most amazing discoveries!

  tonight is the night , i have direc tv and going to watch to fifth estate.my hubby will be here also.

  i am realy realy nervous how he is going to react.

  he could blow up and say it's all lie's, they are apostates and god warned he's people they would constantly be persecuted and lied about.or he won't even look at it saying they are apostates and i won't look at them they are the devil's voice.he always say's , you can't believe every thing you see on tv or reading the new's paper.i need you'r advice on how i should react with these situations.

  I hope he watches. But an adult cannot be forced to face facts he/she does not want to face.

  If he dismisses the facts as lies, tell him to contact the WTS and recommend that it sue the broadcast network for spreading falsehoods/slander or whatever. Tell him you are interested in facts to refute what is said, not a blanket emotional denial.

  I am moving but where to?

  my sister told me the other day that at the end of june a friend of her's is moving to detroit and i will need to move out.

  i was hurt at first but i understand why now.

  she loves children but she has very little patience for them.

  Home means Nevada, Home means the hills, Home means the sage and the pines, out by the Truckee's silvery rills, out where the sun always shines.....

  I am a Tennesseean transplanted to Nevada. I love my adopted home state -- lots easier to make money here. And there's lots more room.

  Where you go may depend on what you want to do for a living and what leisure pursuits you enjoy. If you'd like to be a cocktail waitress (megamoney in Vegas!) or a bartender (ditto), Las Vegas is the place. But one is not confined to these occupations. If you like the night life, go for it.

  Nevada is not a place for anyone with a predeliction to substance abuse or gambling -- those folks get in big trouble and usually have to move on.

  i have a contact ( relative ) that is very close to a writing department researcher.. he claims that there was a private extraordinary meeting that was had about 6 months ago.

  9 of the gb members were present and a handfull of elitists that apparently no-one knows or would recognise.

  I'm glad you're getting this out. It sounds like you really need to tell this. Please ignore the negative comments. Some people in this world have enough control over their lives that they cannot relate to the helplessness of a child or young woman who is bullied and beaten into believing she is not worthy of a happy life to the point of desperation.

  Are you going to therapy? A good therapist can help you work through this.

  Do you have a relationship of any kind with your bio dad? Won't he help you get an education and a good job the way he did for your half sister?

  i've done a lot of lurking and have put in my two cents a few times on this board, but just realized i've never introduced myself here.. i'm one of five who was raised as jws.

  my mom began studying not too long after she married; dad was totally against it.

  coming from a divided household, we were treated as an nonentity in the congregation.
