Thanks for sharing your thoughts Beksbks. I think your mom must have raised you kids to think for yourselves, and question things that don't make sense. My mom must have gotten that through to me too when I was growing up. She just doesn't seem to be able to see through the errors of the Watchtower teachings. She likes to feel content and safe with what she has believed for so many years.

It bothers me that the witnesses apply this term to the Watchtower. I always used it though, when I was younger. It was so common.

At the grocery store

salmon steak, artichokes, potatoes, grapes, peaches, and goat cheese.
the lady behind me (who was on one of those hoverounds) asked me what the little package was, i told her goat cheese.

That lady's basket was probably full of all kinds of unhealthy foods. Frozen pizzas, Cheetos, Oreos, gallon bucket of mint chocolate chip ice cream, bags of Hershey kisses....

Confessed my Doubts to my Wife
by cantleave inwell - i today i had the opportunity to tell my wife i no longer believe in the things that i have spent my life immersed in and that i didn't want my life run by 9 geriatrics in brooklyn.. her reaction was understandable her first questions was "what have you been reading"?.
i didn't mention this site but told her i was shocked by something i heard regarding the wts's ngo status with the un, dissapointed by the new light on the generation and disturbed by the flip flopping on blood fractions.
i explained how these things were at best hypocritical and at worst have meant some people have lost their lives unnecessarily because of the societies previous position.

Cantleave, I am glad you decided to tell your wife how you felt. Your wife obviously is smart and speaks what she really believes, even though it is not in line with the watchtower teachings. Hopefully,as the two of you do more personal study, You can find more common ground. I wish you well.
