soledad, You said you hate arrogance and have a low tolerance for B.S.. AMEN to that. I am going through this at work. When I need a question answered, if you don't know, say it!! Dont't give me a load of crap. Only confuses things.
And the only thing worse is arrogance. I wish arrogant people would just shut the hell up!!

A little more about myself
by Soledad inhi all again...i had said that i would post a little more about myself, not too much, i hate to be long-winded and boring, but i also like to keep my word, so here goes.. there were always 3 nagging doubts that i had in the back of my mind: one was how come we as witnesses commemorate the death of christ if he specifically states "do this until i return", yet the wts stated that he returned invisibly in 1914?
(im sorry i dont have any kind of bible handy to quote this scripture word for word, im just going on memory) of course i now know that the "official" position on 1914 has somewhat changed, but when i was a dub, it was all the rage, in addition to the whole "generation" teachings.
some witnesses in my congregation actually braced themselves for 1994, anticipating something.

On "The Generation" from 20-year-old ...
by AlanF ini recently got hold of the book the catholic answer to the jehovah's witnesses (louise d'angelo, maryheart catholic information center, meriden, connecticut, 1981).
it's a pretty critique of the jws in many parts, especially on the topic of "jws and false predictions".
with regard to "the generation of 1914" it said:.

Short Update
by Amazing ini updated my new homepage - "free at last.
" added some nice pictures, and started the links to my justice series.
also added a big cobra pict to the jw justice section - a fitting symbolic gesture for what one experiences when facing a judicial committee.

slayer, I remember you were the first person to respond to my first post. I don't remember what it was anymore, but it seemed like you pissed me off a little. I have not posted much, but i remember how well you are at doctoring up pictures and posting them. Hope to see some more of your handiwork. I appreciated reading your posts. Sorry to hear about your experience. I have been depressed and have spent time in a hospital for it. It is no fun!!

Has anyone ever received the magazine from the christian millenial fellowship? Was just wondering what others thought of it. I enjoyed reading it. Its called "the new creation". It sounds like a works oriented belief. I wonder if it is even a belief? There are no people in my area , or probably state, that follow this, that i have heard of. Where does one go for any type of fellowship with these people?

Could we be living in the last days?
by LyinEyes ini am wondering , with the world situation that way it is, could we be living in the last days?
putting religion, and personal beliefs aside, are we are the brink of all of this coming to an end?
geneocide, could happen because of what mankind is doing to the earth.

oldhippie, you don't get it. Bad things that involve the entire world could very well start in just a small part of it.
funkyderek, I did not say that things were better before "in God we trust" was on the money. Simply,What I meant was that when we lose our respect for God to that extent , then I feel things will get worse fast.
sheeesh guys , give me a break. I almost can't stand to post anymore. always some post in return that seems to jump all over what i write. JUST MY THOUGHTS . Who can foretell the future??

I think the end can come at any time. A brother I studied with in 1983 said the end would come in 5 years or less hopefully. I used to think that I would not finish school because armageddon was just around the corner. I learned that no one can predict the end. I do think we are in bad times now. God is being kicked out of our lives. Everyone wants to deny God for some reason. I think times can get a lot tougher though. I always figured that when we took "in God we trust" off the money, then we were not long for big trouble.
The end could come tomorrow, or not even in our lifetimes musky

Hello glory,
Welcome! I currently am not going to meetings and not to any other church, although I would like to find a group of bible believing people to study with someday.(church?)It still is hard because I still believe in some of the witness teachings, sometimes feel like going back. musky
