Are you "weak" in the "truth"?
by sleepy inwhat does it mean to be "weak" in the "truth"?.
weak can mean any of these things :lacking strength,easily broken,lacking vigour,not convincing or forceful.. so which one is to be weak in the "truth".. well to be in the "truth" means , i believe practisng the "true" religion.so if you are not fully practicing you are consideed "weak" by jehovahs witnesses.. is this idea presented by jesus in the bible?that if you have trouble doing what is asked by god you should be labeled as "weak"?.
no.it is just one of the ways which we used as witnesses to intimidate people.. people don't like being called weak.. but witnesses like to think that if they are pioneers , elders etc they are strong, if not you are weak.. another evidence of the lack of understanding or humility shown by "gods true orginisation"

Fighting in Afghanistan/Warthog
by Adam inwith all i've been reading in the newspaper, i have yet to hear one mention of the a-10 warthog.
this plane is extremely manuverable, highly survivable with tripple redundant systems all thru the plane, and packs a major punch with its nose cannon which the plane was built around.
it would seem perfect for the small arms fighting going on right now.

High speed is meaningless for this type of activity, which is what the A-class (Assault) planes are for. In fact, high speed precludes effective strafing of ground targets. Tight maneuvering is needed for that operation. I've seen an A-10 do a roll so close to the ground that the F-16 pilot would think he was still in take-off rotation.
The A-10 is meant to be a tank-buster and was built around the Gatling-type gun it carries. Cave-buster might be next.
Yes, the gunship helicopters can hover and doing some serious
'loitering'. But their armor is not as heavy as the A-10. Thus, I noticed about 2 days ago on the news that the A-10 was being deployed against the Al Qaeda holed up in east Afghanistan. The helicopters were talking too much punishment.Inter-service deployment doesn't present too much problem. Inter-operability of people and equipment has been worked on just for such purposes.
There are a variety of jobs to do and a commensurate variety of aircraft. As my Air Force Flight Instructor used to say, 'match the plane to the mission'.
As the mission evolves, the next candidate will step up to the plate.

On the other side of the balance sheet, I thought that I heard (at least in the initial reports) that there were some missing 'brothers
& sisters' in the whole mess.Has anyone clarified that? Were any others caught in the WTC buildings???
So, one individual gets a reprieve by 'providence', and a big deal is made of it. (Reminds me of being elected to sainthood, as the Catholics do.)
What is the story with that other few or dozen that were caught in the disaster and killed???
Will they be posthumously DF'd to keep the saint-ified 'brother' story spotless??

It happens as Silverleaf said, for various and sundry cases all over the landscape.
Once I was scheduled for a business trip late in the week. Monday afternoon other things pre-empted me and I was reassigned to other tasks. My original assignment was picked up by another person, who simply walked over to our travel agent and said that he was taking my place. He didn't like the schedule and changed my arrangements to his liking.
The plane I was originally scheduled on crashed.

"And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, as a testimony to all nations; and then the end will come."The scripture says "throughout the whole world", not some close at hand portion that has been 'hammered' to near death by over preaching. Take it on the road; China has a lot of openings, so do Afghanistan and Bosnia.
The scripture also says "as a testimony", not as a bad example.

'bookmarked' that as 'it says it all'. See Matt. 23:27,28 below.All this is a wonderful example of a double standard.
"It's OK for us to criticize anything we want; if we decide to defile ourselves anyway, it's NOT OK FOR YOU TO POINT THIS OUT (CRITICIZE US). And we will finish you off for noticing."
In other words, when we(WTS) express something, we(WTS) are properly exercising RIGHTEOUS INDIGNATION, but when you catch us(WTS) in A HYPOCRISY AND A LIE, you are being EVIL for using your eyes and thinking ability.
Bottom line: a JW can always justify something, making it sound good. Closely examined, this effect is really as described in Matt. 23:27,28.
27 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within they are full of dead men's bones and all uncleanness." 28 "So you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but within you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity."
Maybe the taste doesn't bother their mouth's or stomach's but hypocrisy is not a meal for honest people.
