Well, for me, I have to hand to these guys for originality, even though it won't work with small details in the way, i.e. where to get the DNA. It certainly won't be from the Shroud of Turin, that thing has already been discredited...makes for interesting reading though.

Good to hear from you again...I totally agree with what you were saying, particularly about the rediculous racist debates...
I find that oftentimes there is so much energy spent on presenting the "correctness" of one's <------(hee hee) beliefs that we forget about the lesson. Good case in point is the the whole cross/stake debate. I think it is good to be clear on certain ideas where the principle of the situation is changed by a certain detail. However, in cases like the cross/stake debate, either way doesn't change the fact that subscribers to Christianity still hold that Jesus died and why he did so. I think people would learn so much more, if they could just try out OTHER points of view instead of remaining stagnant in a state of idealogical defense and debate.
And one more thing, yes, You Know can be a big rigid phallus in the bum. He's a prick, but I can learn from him too, even if it's a confirmation of why I left the JWs....

It's not that hard. Assuming you're heterosexual, haven't you ever looked another guy and thought, "WOW! That guy is beautiful..."? I'm not gay, but I openly admit the beauty of another man to my girlfriend all the time. I think it's the same...I don't feel anything for the guy, I just think he's good-looking, handsome..whatever...However, girls, by nature, are just lovlier than man are (in my opinion). I think it's safe to assume most women would agree with this. To me it's like looking at a plant with nice leaves vs. looking at the same plant with flowers...It's a dumb comparison, but I think it serves my purpose...of course, I could be all wrong and should probably just shut my mouth....

i find it weird that the jehovah witnesses disrespect other relegions by calling their's the "truth".
by saying this aren't the wt's saying that there is no other answer and all other relegions are wrong.
i also think it is disrespectfull the way they call house holders "prospects".

i have a vivid memory of 1975 even though i was only 6 years old.
i remember the whispers and the fervor surrounding the year.
i even had an uncle who marked his calendar every day with big red xs proclaiming that he couldn't wait for "this evil system of things to end.".
1975....I was still in New York City, but what would I know, I was still breastfeeding...

it seems like to me the majority of people who are in the truth, are were in the truth was a result of either a family member are a friend witnessing to them and not many seem to have been found in the door to door work.. from my years of associating with the borg i cannot recall many coming in the truth from the door to door work.. how were you sucked in?
for me it was my aunt who has now even though i am not disfellowshipped decided to write me out of her will to the tune of about $150,000.00 (maybe i should hang around a couple more years)dont think i will.. please respond .

I was raised as a JW. Wasn't baptized until I was 18. I thought it would be good to wait until then, plus I wouldn't have been approved for it until then. I wasn't sure why I got baptized at the time, it just seemed like the right "next" thing to do. Once that was done, I stayed until I was df'd at 26 in November of 1999.

ok so pardon me for the take off on richard scarry--he really is one of my favorite all time children's authors.. but i had to share this field service story with you--it's the gospel truth!
hopefully, you can add some of yours.. while pioneering in upstate ny, my sister and i had frequent occasions to work in service with a married pioneer couple.
yes, they were window washers, but that's not the real story here.. they had a return visit on an elderly gentleman who was kind enough to take the magazines every once in a while.
I really got a kick out of the almonds story. I'll have to forward that one to some friends...
I don't have anything that good. There was, though, the time I was going door to door with one of my uptight friends, I think we were both about 17 at the time. Well, this guy I was with was a die hard JW, aspiring to pioneer, be a MS...all that. Also you have to know that he was kinda nerdy and not exactly the most graceful in the presence of the ladies. Well, it was his turn at the door, and this girl who was our age, and totally good looking comes to the door in her bikini. Now, ordinarily it would be no big deal, but the JW's I knew rarley got see this in real life; I can't think of a single sister that I knew that didn't wear a one piece swimsuit (the indecency!!...anyway, if you could have seen him completley choke on his presentation. He couldn't get the words out. But then the girl noticed his discomfort with thee situation and totally started to make fun of him. I felt for the guy, but it was totally funny...
I'm sure everybody has a story like that where someone comes to the door naked/half dressed. Never happened to me personally, but it seems that would be pretty funny...

That has to be about the most horrible thing I have ever seen. I don't see anything wrong with kids coloring some pictures from the rosier scenes of the bible... but a blatant murder scene...Good lord, what was the person thinking?!? I mean, it's just so strange being all nice and cozy Christian-like...and then coloring pictures of someone getting killed...it's just bizarre....Gives me the creeps...
