well this really sucks

you ever have one of those things that happen to you that just leaves you speechless.

well the other day one of my best friends (someone i have known for years) told me that they might have cancer.

they have a tumor in their leg that just changed size as well as a small lump in their arm.

Spice, many times words aren't necessary, it is just being there that is important.

On a survivors note: my brother's girlfriend has a beautiful 18 month old daughter. They weren't sure if the tumor (cancer) was operable or not. The surgery was a success, and her beautiful blond hair is growing back. They went to a survivors rally in June.

I was thinking of her today as I went thru a McD's drive thru, and of all the help that the McDonald's foundation has done in housing the families of cancer victims.

Remember the Procter & Gamble scare?

do any of you remember when it was announced that procter and gamble's logo was satanic?

everyone i knew did a thorough search of all p&g cleaning products in their homes, furiously scraping off the offending logo by any means necessary, or even throwing the product away just in case the moon and stars somehow reappeared after being removed.. i ran across the logo and i had a good chuckle.

i thought back to how we were terrified of just about everything; even the most benign cleaning products.

riz, LOL I remember that scare. I don't remember anyone scraping the symbol off, they threw the entire product(s) away. I remember the "pioneer sister" who was alerting everyone at the KH about it. She was usually the one in the middle of those things. Oh the memories.

Do you like cops?

i know many people who don't like cops and even give them all kinds of names.

some may be nice, but many think they are superior to the ordinary citizen.

i see so many doing radar on bottom of hills where automatically you will go over the speed limit.

Police earn a very good salary

Not always, I guess it depends on the location they work. I know some that have to work second jobs to supplement their income. For the risk that they take I think they should be paid more.

Do you like cops?

Depends on the cops, I know some that I like, and I know some that I wouldn't trust any farther then I could throw them.

What was you JC Meeting like?

(inspired from caspian's thread) i hope the stories help rebel.

i was just wondering if any of you would like to share the details of your jc meeting.. i remember mine so well.

i was about 22 years old when i went to a jw relative of mine and broke my silence about sexual abuse i suffered as a child.. at this point i was involved in some normal young adult behavior (sex, drugs & rock n' roll) but because of my religious upbringing i was going crazy over it all.. well somebody took the liberty of telling the elders i wanted to talk to them about my devious behavior that i never admitted to anybody.

I took it further and taking the risk exposing rapes. I figure what did I have to lose and layed the cards on the table. The one responses I was told "well you know how men are"?

I would have guessed their reply would be that you had to give him his "marital due" They play at being counselers but they really have no clue. They usually have cookie cutter resposes to problems, and have no idea the harm they are causing.

Thank you rocketman, the second comittee is probably one of the main reasons that I don't hate JW's as individuals, I abhor the organization and what it stands for.
