  Why would someone who has disassociated allow their child to be taken to KH

  i just read the listeners post about baptisms at the district conventions and didn't want to disrupt the thread.

  i'm curious, why would someone allow their child to attend the kh or district convention and possibly be pressured into getting baptized?

  I let my daughter go when she was visiting her father. I wanted her to have the freedom of choice. He began to take advantage of the situation by only picking her up on Sundays so he could take her to the hall. He was traveling a good distance to do this. She voiced her frustration to me that she really didn't want to go, so I confronted him about seeing the pattern that he was setting and told him to pick her up after he went to the hall. She was afraid of hurting his feelings. She did speak up to let him know she didn't want to attend.

  i had another member of my family die, i was not close to her.

  she was a baptized dubber that had left many years ago, but defended the cult to the death.

  Kilroy,

  A friend from my teen years who was df'd many times, commited suicide this past year (she was df'd at the time). The funeral was at the local funeral home. The eulogy (Sunday Sermon) was given by an elder from a nearby congregation. He mentioned her name once then the rest of the time was spent talking about things totally unrelated to her.

  hi all, i've been gone for a little while, but i'm back and i wanted to get some opinions.

  back in april i told you guys that i sent out my da letter to the congregation, our family, and some of our witness friends.

  well, we got a letter in response from two elders by certified mail.

  No one is elated over it except those who are not Christian Witnesses of Jehovah.

  How do they know the feelings of those outside of their religion. More cultism. It may be true that those not in are relieved perhaps even "elated" for the fact that you have seen thru them. They try to make it sound bad.

  Gas price in your area?

  here in quebec, ordinary unleaded is 94.4 cents a litre.

  (that's the cheapest gas!!!).

  there are 3.78 liters per american gallon, so this would give $3.57 a us gallon..... what's the price of gas in your area?

  Krystal, you have been through a lot. I haven't seen your earlier post so at this time I would like to say welcome.

  This site along with some others have been a great aid in "deprogramming" me. It took a while to let things go, to stop feeling guilty, and that I was going to be destroyed for leaving a man made cult that is merely in the publishing business.
