  Those are powerful words. Something to think about.

  I do think that the general American idea of 'going in and teaching them a lesson' at most = the Gulf War, which doesn't seem much like a real war anyway (I'm not making light of the many that died there, just pointing out that to the Americans, the cost and losses were light - it was not a long and drawn out affair). And most Americans think we can just drop some bombs and do the job. I really don't think many realize what it would really take to 'do the job'. And even after that 'job' was done, what mess would remain behind.

  There are no easy answers.

  OVERFLOW KH MEETING TONITE!

  i just drove by the local kh on my way home, and the parking lot was overflowing, almost like at the memorial.

  there were probably 50% more autos than are normaly at the average ms/sm.. is this just a local "phenomenon"?

  Why would it be surprising that people of faith would go to their places of worship for consolation in this horrible horrible time. I am sure that all churches were packed to overflowing at their meetings this week.

  That's not surprising at all. However, this is (well, it isn't but it SHOULD be)...

  Unfortunately, the Service Meeting speaker told the cong. to use the tragedy to place more mags and go out in service more.

  There's hope for some of them ...

  I was encouraged to see many Witnesses in the congregation truly hurt by what had happened in NYC and Arlington.

  But you can better beleive that in KHs all accross the country the above was true about 'useing' this to sell more mags. I bet lit sales go through the roof for awhile. THAT's the sad part. And this finally is the worst ...

  No mention was made of relief efforts.

  Typical. Bethel's OK, they got their sidewalks clean, no need for alarm! Now get out there and sell mags!

  Joel, you would have been a breath of fresh air to me then. In all my years and many congs, I rarely ran accross people like you. The majority I knew 1) Hated/disliked FS - saw it as a collosal waste of time/money (myself included) 2) Were what I called 'Nazi' witnesses - you know, had to hit that door right next to the KH to start time, wouldn't stop for a coffee break, knocked 4 times at each door or poked around in back yards, etc. 3) or, those who just put in the time 'cause they thought it was the right thing to do.

  I don't think most people here think the 6 million JWs are the 'enemies'. I know I certainly don't hate or even dislike my family! But we do feel sad that they are being dupped into what's best a huge waste of time, and at worst slowly destroying their sanity trying to deal with this insane religion. Not to mention that the JW has sucked away the best years of their life and gives NOTHING in return other than a hope that must get fainter and fainter as time goes by.

  I'm not arguing the intent of some JWs who get all excited about this and feel they now have 'good talking points' at the doors. But anyone who continues to kid themselves about the purpose of JWs knocking on doors ... well they need to get in touch with reality. Yes they feel they want to 'share their hope with one who are confused' but the PURPOSE is recrutement. Plain and simple. Same as the Hari Krishnas at the airports. They're not there for their health! They want people to join. It's just a club propigating itself.

  Yes, my beef is with those in control of the group, and no I don't want to 'shoot the messenger' - I know/knew many kindhearted JWs. But I find it so very sad that even in the face of what happened so many turn to selfish thoughts and give so little/no consideration to those touched by what happened. It's sad that good poeple have been turned into little magazine salesmen zombies.

  i am currently enjoying cruising around on the internet in chat rooms.. i'm enjoying posting that the jw who could have sent in people and organized volunteers have locked their doors and tightened their security.. perhaps instead of bitching and moaning on this board, we should use our time letting total strangers know jus how unchristian the christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses are.. well?

  Ha ha. If the Borough is SO happy with all the tax free land being bought up by the JWs why do the JWs have to now hide their land grabs through dummy corps? The JWs LOVE to think that Brooklyn LOVES having them around (ooo look how clean we keep the streets!) when in fact the Brooklyn people think you're kooks. And know what? They're right!

Beware the DEMONS are scary creatures who inhabit all sorts of old furniture, books, tapes, (probably found a sneaky way into CDs too knowdays), and all sorts of other objects. The DEMONS are out to get you. In fact thge DEMONS have nothing better to do than try and possess you or one of your objects. No one knows for sure what they are trying to accomplish, but it seems to have something to do with Smurfs. And moving your car keys around or hiding them. Oh, and making things go 'bumb' in the night.

  The DEMONS are yet another method of control by the WTBTS to instill fear into the rank and file. A fearful people is a controlable people. It's also useful for making you git rid of any objects they would rather you not have. Better not read that apostate book, the DEMONS are in it. Better not read that Satanic Bible the DEMONS are in it. Better not watch that R rated movie the DEMONS will get you. Better not go to a yard sale, the couch you buy will have DEMONS in it.

  I've never known a more frightened people than JWs and their DEMONS.

  And YES, the DEMONS are in your Gun's n Roses poster. You just don't know it yet.

  It must be really causing cognizant disorder for them - on one hand their humanity must (I hope) make them sad for those people, yet they feel they have to be 'excited' at the events too since it means 'the end'.
