Where would you draw the line?

assuming the creator exists, how far do you feel he/she should go in interfering with the exercise of our free will?

wouldn't any direct interference negate such freedom?

seems to me it's a very thin line between puppet like control and absolute freedom.

That's all fine that a god/creator/whatever would make man/earth/universe and then leave us alone. If that's what really happened. But to assume this god-figure is waiting to judge/kill 'bad' people based on what? The bible? A mixed message written by man. And that that 'message from god'(bible) would cause so much division among man, and on top of that it's only available to the western world - woe is you who are born into non-christain religions.

If there is a god who has 1) placed us here with free will, 2) is going to judge us for our actions, and 3) has not made HIS requirements clear, then he doesn't even live up to human morals/justice. At least in humanity the laws are pretty clear. Seeker summed it up pretty well - human fathers don't (well hopefully most don't) just create a human life then abandon it - those that do are considered 'bad fathers'. So god = bad father?

i have read a great deal from the silentlamb's web site, not to mention other sites that are following this atrocity!

it would seem to me, and you can probibly bet, when something like this comes to the attention of the elders; that all of thier children are warned to stay clear of "publisher alleged child abuser"!

even though they are supposed to be "hush-hush" about it.

Aintthatcute: No, we all know how the elder's rumor circle works. In fact in lots of cases the wives and kids know as much or more than mr elder dad. It's the 'weak' ones that aren't in the elder click that suffer the fate of never being aware of the real goings on ...

Once again Booby has followed in the great traditions of the WTBTS of having your cake and eating it too. In Booby's case he'd have us beleive this - the WTBTS is led by men, and many in it follow men, yet it somehow is still god's one true org ... so you must remain in it, even though by doing so you are following man. And god will soon being doing something to his true org that will evidently kill most JWs anyway. Make sense? I thought so.

this post is an attempt to explain the paradoxical return of ex-jws back to the watchtower.

my premise is that a persons unconscious mind has a positive intent in leading them back to the former environment and the intent is of intrinsic value within individuals.. developmental psychology tells us there are six primary developmental stages in a persons life.

if a person experiences developmental gaps or underdevelopment of a stage all the others that follow will not develop properly and these will be affected.

mymailmum: Is it so hard for you to comprehend that perhaps the WTBTS is one of those apostates? Perhaps Satan is using IT as a tool to mislead YOU. Prove to me I'm wrong. You know Satan makes himself an angel of light so he could use 'The One True Org' to mislead many ...

Maybe that why there is so much corruption in the org. You really think a perfect god would stand for child molesters being top men in his org?

I need your advice

i need your advice: i have written a letter to my branch office regarding my problems with the 607-chronology 60+ pages with short references about the issue, that i have collected through the past 9-10 years.

at the end of my letter i asked 14 questions 7 questions regarding the biblical evidence against the 607 bce-chronology and 7 questions regarding the historical and astronomical evidence against it.. the letter i received as an answer did not contain anything that could qualify as an answer or even an attempt to answer my questions.

i called the branch office by phone and talked to the brother who had written the answer.

So let's see Mr mailmymum - Jah's org is imperfect men, but you MUST obey it because PERFECT Jehovah is using it, even though it screws up all the time. Makes PERFECT sense now that you explain it so well.

This is really annoying, the typical 'well the org makes mistakes but it's The True Org and all'. How can a human brain work under this circular thinking? I'm surprised more JW's don't spontainiously combust under the pressure.

Think carefully about the congo's you've been in. Does it seem beyond the realm of possiblity that men would abuse a policy such as "2 witnesses to an event" to feed their deprived cravings for young flesh? Surely they aren't stupid enough to have little Johnny and little Jane over at the same time, no these sick people molest children for years and are at best slapped on the wrist - like having privledges removed, poor Mr. child molester can't run the mikes!

Think back, have you ever been told to 'butt out' of a matter and 'let the elders handle it'? I bet you have. Elders will do ANYTHING to 'keep the name of Jehovah clean', including encouraging couples to stay together even though one of the spouse is abusive. I've seen THAT many times. Anything that can be covered up is.

as it turned out they wheedled the answer out of him by his fiancee, but the point is that they had a wager.

since the underlying assumption of the apostasy is that we are not living in the last days of this system of things, and that this world is not facing anything remotely like the biblical apocalypse, at least not any time soon, in the spirit of such antagonism, i would like to propose a similar wager.
