  Snubbed for the first time!

  hahahaha!!!.

  since being disfellowshipped on thursday, i have already come into contact with some jw's.

  some experiences have been heartwarming!!!

  Feel like I'm living a lie....

  it's been a while since i've posted on the forum but im needing to get how i'm feeling out of my head and out in the open.

  i don't know what's going on with me but sometimes i feel overwhelmingly sad and my eyes well up like i'm going to start crying.

  i'm not thinking about any one particular thing when this happens.

  The truth is you have to leave. I know you can't do it right away. But with careful planning, it is possible.

  It is not uncommon once leaving the dubs getting involved in another controlling situation. (this happened to me when I left the Borg and trust me it's more of a common story than you know) I was in an abusive/controlling relationship and got out.

  Sadly, he won't change. He loves having the power to make you feel small. he's conditioned you to feel bad about yourself. Things won't get better. He doesn't even see the need to change. You deserve respect and happiness.

  Again, you NEED! to leave, I speak from experience. You don't deserve this treatment, it has nothing to do with you not being a good enough wife, and yes... you can rebuild your life.

  As a suggestion, I would consider looking up your local women's shelter, most of them hold free/confidential support groups. You can join in on others similar struggles and hopefully summon the courage to plan your escape. You deserve happiness.

  just thought i'd introduce myself.

  i've been lurking for a few months and want to get in on some of the conversation.. also here's a song that's taken on a new personal meaning for me.

  (i was born in to a witness family and have recently woke up to the fact that it is just a group of people following just men.

  Weird? Sinister? Or just hi-tec?

  it's the end of a seriously stressful day.

  after going through my emails and browsing a couple of shopping sites for autumn clothes, i came here for light relief.. checked the active topics and then my own list of topics posted to in case i needed to answer anyone.

  then i noticed something really weird.. google's banner ads caught my eye.

  the jws take pride in their honesty, for many years, this has been a strong marketing strategy for the purity of their religious dogma.

  you may be familiar with many stories of their members retruning found wallet and so on, but here is an example found from the 2010 watchtower, march 15. .

  "emilio, an italian witness who works as a driver for a public transport company, found a wallet containing 470 euros ($680, u.s.).

  Like everyone else here, I can speak of knowing many dishonset dubs, as I know of honest 'wordly' people.

  colleagues were so impressed by his conduct that they became interested in the Bible and started to study. As a result, seven people from two families have accepted the truth.

  Wow, they really embellished on that one!

  talk to paulnotsaul last night and found out his wife was in the hosptial.

  it was very serious but she is going to be ok. this is our opportunity to wish her well.

  How are things going since my exit?

  today i got accepted to a christian university and we had an earthquake!!!

  the college is located here in va and is the largest christian university in the us.

  my husband is worried about the money but the fact that it's liberty u upsets him more.. otherwise things are good between us things are tense on meeting days.

  Are there any songs that remind you of being a jw ?

  this afternoon the song music box dancer came on the radio and i was instantly transported back to 1978 when my best jw friend got married.. this was "their" song ,, they are now divorced and one of them left the religion and is remarried.. another song that makes my skin crawl from a jw standpoint is mambo # 5.. there was an elder from my old hall, j. renfroe who always was telling the young people what music was acceptable for them to listen to.. and this guy was just so opinionated regarding everything.. so one time at a wedding this song comes on and he starts dancing almost uncontrollably.

  it was agony to watch, and i ( and many others felt embarrassed for him because of how he was dancing and how his self rightous opinions seemed to be thrown to the wind this evening.. any other examples of music that became tainted from a jw experience ?.
