Very strange. In my case...they required I have proof that my 'wordly' ex husband had cheated/was cheating on me. That's when I completely gave up. I had no idea where he was. It would basically mean, in their eyes I could never remarry, if I never found him and this 'proof'.

How Judicial Committees Violate Individual Privacy
by Londo111 inmany here have called for public judicial committees, which would indeed add to transparency.
but--every person deserves a measure of privacy, and to be able to keep their dirty laundry from public view.
why should everyone know the details of very personal matters, perhaps involving private struggles and family secrets?

Glad to hear you are calm. You will most likely be hurting for a bit. But that's what pain pills are for.

My mom and dad told me that I'm an apostate and that they want to 'limit their association' with me!!!
by Joliette ina series of events led up to an arugment with my parents last night.
my mom and dad told me that they found my videos that i was doing on youtube, and they told me that i was an apostate.
they said that they would help me if it was an emergency, but other then that, they didnt want anything to do with me.

My heart goes out to you… I know you are really sad right now, they are your parents after all. It is so horrible how this ‘religion’ that preaches so much about love, actually shows so little of it.
Stay strong. Feel free to vent on here all you need, or PM me.
Regardless of how often we talk about the bOrg tearing families apart on this board, it’s still difficult to face when it happens personally to us (whether it is once, or many times throughout our lives)

Special A$$embly Day Notes
by PrincessCynic ini wasted my sunday yesterday attending the special a$$embly day.
i thought some of you might like to see some of the notes i took to keep myself amused/awake.. we had a guest speaker from the local old people's home bethel.
he seemed slightly senile.

Haha. Your recap was awesome. Good notes. Apparently nothing has changed the bOrg is still inanely repetitive and insane.

Is anyone else getting ready for Christmas?
by juni ini was in the mood today... got the tree cheap (came w/lights), decorations and ribbon for half price and made the bow myself to save money.
i was going to put it aside until after thanksgiving, but couldn't resist completing the project.
i just have to get some fiber fill for "snow" at the base.

Why, yes my boyfriend and I bought our first tree. Normally (being the last 3 years )we would celebrate x-mas at his parents house. But his mother passed away this summer. So we are making our own festivities. This is the first time I've EVER decorated my house for x-mas. I don't feel bad, actually. So maybe I have made some progress...
...by the way your tree looks nice Juni :)

Why do we have to 'prove' anything to God. (This point made at assembly today)
by PaintedToeNail inthe point was made at the assembly today, that we have to 'prove' our love for jehovah to him.
as i sat there, bored, this thought struck me as odd.
since jehovah is supposed to be able to read 'hearts', why do we as humans, have to prove anything to him, since he already knows us down to our kidneys and would know if we loved him or not.

Jealousy...proving one's 'love' constantly...that relationship was too complicated for me.

Wow. These pictures are amazing! I suppose I never thought of that concept...harvesting bees (venom) for pharmaceutical companies. I would have just imagined them cultivating everything in monitored labs. But, looks like you've got it down.

Hello - new
by freshstart inhi, just wanted to introduce myself.
born-in, as was my husband.
we were both baptized as teens, married when we were teens (he was early 20s) and we were both the "perfect" witnesses.
