What will YOU say at Sept March?
by Hyghlandyr inall you lurkers out there listen up
the march is going to be very peaceful.
there will be too many of us there that support silent lambs (not the organization but the actual silent lambs that it represents) to allow others to make it get out of hand.

We shall NOT watch how we walk
by mikepence inmy family will not be attending the march.
i respect bill and what he has accomplished, but i believe that attempts to control the march and the marchers, are misplaced -- even damaging for victims of abuse -- who have been controlled enough!.
the last thing victims of abuse need is to be told to keep up appearances.

Again thanks, Hyghlandyr, & Simon and all the other sensible people
It might be a good idea to reiterate your paragraph again Hyghlandyr on a separate thread. We need to keep the calm peaceful march foremost in people's minds
Simon like I said: I think Watchtower just out smarted us.

Okay folks, now how do we handle the fallout from this thread? Posters and Lurkers AFRAID TO MARCH because it will turn into a riot. This is seriously bad

Thanks Hyghlandyr
Your posts have been outstanding. This thread has caused a serious problem for me and probably for many lurkers.....I am afraid to go march with a bunch of unstable people. I do know personally what happens when you are arrested and even if the Grand Jury says it was a mistake, it is an expensive mistake. You can take the cheap route out and plea bargain but that leaves you with a criminal record or you can fight it with an expensive lawyer. Bill Bowen has EVERY right to expect certain behavior and MOST of the rest of us are counting on it. -

Myself when I talk about being militant I mean militantly vocal.
Please re read my post. You CAN BE ARRESTED nowadays for what you SAY. I'm not guessing- I'm not saying could be arrested--I'm saying I know. It's called a terroristic threat and I don't know New York's laws but I bet they are the toughest.

Mike,
Everyone needs to be aware of something IMPORTANT. America is in a heightened state of awareness, disorderly protests are not a good idea, especially not in New York. Ever heard of being arrested for making a TERRORIST THREAT?? Me either until recently. This is a personal incident that happened to our family just a few months ago. One member was our family was arrested for making Terrorists Threats. It took months and $8000 before a grand jury No-Billed him.
Please think carefully about what the Watchtower Society would be willing to do in pressing charges. In the U.S. federal system, each state determines what constitutes an offense under its criminal or penal code. (and believe me, right now it doesn't take much to be arrested) States have therefore defined terrorism generically as a crime, thus ending the true need for the use of specific statutes covering other selected criminal acts that are identified as terrorism. For instance, the Arkansas Criminal Code states that " a person commits the offense of terroristic threatening if with the purpose of terrorizing another person, he threatens to cause death or serious physical injury or substantial property damage to another person." **
Can you guarantee to me that in "expressing anger" no one will lose control and threaten anyone or any building etc. Right now I really don't want to lay out another $8000 . If you guys want my lawyer's card, let me know, but he's in Texas.

I'm not sure what your saying, Mike. The law of the land (4th Amendment of the US Constitution.) gives us the right to engage in a peaceful demonstration. I didn't have in mind being a part of Molotov cocktail-throwing group of protesters. This trip is going to cost me a lot already, but do you suggest I have a lawyer on retainer too? Should we arrange bail just in case? I'd like to have some assurance that I can go and NOT BE ARRESTED.
What exactly do you mean by expressing anger?

Silentlambs March: Controversal Idea?
by Nanoprobe inthis is a controversial post because it relates to your personal grooming & dress.
problem: jr brown & watchtower have managed to create an image problem for bill bowen & silentlambs.
in jw land he isn't a victims advocate, he is simply a deceitful apostate.

Basically we need to come across as normal nice people. I don't think it will matter if you dress casually or in suit and tie or if you wear the T-shirt.
I think being viewed as Brother or Sister Df'd, I hate this Freakin' Cult is the look we want to avoid. If the ordinary JW or even the world sees us as people with a chip on our shoulder we lose credibility. Remember their misinformation campaign is that Bill, Barbara, Joe etc were actually disfellowshipped for wrongdoing and we just want to do whatever we can to dispel that image.
