i am shocked and outraged by the recent actions of the watchtower society to silence child advocates who's only agenda is to stop the rape and molestation of jehovah's witness children and protect them from the known pedophiles operating within the organization.

those in the organization who are responsible for these reprehensible actions must be sanctioned.

i sincerely hope that voting members of the watchtower society will insist on the removal of all corporate directors who support the current policies that harm children and protect pedophiles.

Okay, if everyone has worked out their LOVE/HATE relationships and has thoroughly cussed out everyone they can think of, can we get back to the topic of the thread?

Using the JWZone Dubs for a focus group we see woven through out this fact: basically BILL BOWEN has an image problem.

This isnt Bills fault. Of course the JW media machine has worked diligently to achieve that goal, but exactly how did they do it?

So many adjectives are tossed about to qualify everything. The devotion to the "earthly organization" is absolutely astounding. OK, I was a wuss today.....

i have seen my share of horrors in my life; my own; others when i worked on the ambulance and in the funeral home.

i've come home covered in someone else's blood and dealt with death on numerous times.

i have been to the dentist five times in the past month.

My daughter recently had a reaction to eprinehrine at the Dentist Office. The dentist had given her two shots because the first one wasn't controlling the pain. After the second shot she had a reaction and starting shaking violently, her heart was racing, and she was very cold. The dentist had to get her some cheese to try to eat and call her husband to take her home.

She is fine but now was terrified of going to a dentist office and still needed to finish the procedure. We did a lot of research trying to figure out what happened. Eprinehrine is adrenaline and she just got too much. She went back still terrified butgot through it okay.

(I probably should have saved that story until after your all done with the dentist, huh?)

But maybe some extra research will make feel more comfortable too.

Honestly, guys, does it always have to come down to this in fighting?

Here's a good post (thanks, SYN) , a good discussion..... maybe we can gain some insight, but no.... a battle has to erupt between different posters. I think we are on the same team. This is like a business deal: we can play to win or we can just play. I want to win against the JW's policies, etc. I don't need to criticize them everyday to do positive deeds to fight them. We need our combined talents to do that. And just because Amac makes a statement comparing us to them (and yes, sometimes we are pretty idiotic, too) he doesn't become the enemy.

It's like that "sociologist" asked in a thread yesterday: are we immature and unbalancedand fanatical?

one of the most striking things about this and similar message boards concerning jehovah's witnesses is the strength of feeling jw-related discussions evoke.

as i dabble in sociology, i was wondering what you all thought about the following questions.

my objective is not to criticize persons belonging to other group but rather to attempt to grasp the dynamics of the conflicts at work here.. the questions:.

Im going to bite!

Im not going to guess your motives or criticize the exact phrasing of your questions but I will try to give an honest answer.

1) The vast majority of witnesses are not evil at all. They are people who try very hard to please God and they sincerely believe that their teachings are the only truth. This is where the problems arise. Once you have been a member it is impossible to just leave this organization without facing problems that other religions do not present. See #6

3) I would like to comment on deceitfulness. One day I got a glimpse into the secret society that actually rules the witnesses in dealing with a child molestation case in the local hall. It is quiet upsetting to find out that the logic and common sense you assume is present in your own life and in your congregation does not exist. I am sure it is much like finding out about politics from Bill Clinton but it wasnt what I planned for my life.

4) Demonizing: Yes, demonizing the watchtower organization is a sport practiced on this site and it gets pretty crazy. Apparently many blame God or the Watchtower organization for everything that has happened from a bee sting to a major disaster. I have almost all positives experiences from my Watchtower days.

5) I believe that for most current witnesses it is simply best to leave them alone. If they need the organization what right do I have to destroy their comfort zone?

6) Truthfully the Watchtower is a high control organization and the number one problem is that it practices an extreme form of shunning silencing all dissention. Disfellowshipping also separates family members and is the number one reason why the cry of complains is so loud. I wont even comment on the child abuse issue & shunning as it is well documented.

Why did I leave? I believe what affected me the most was that it was possible to convince many members of Jehovahs Witnesses congregation to testify in behalf of a convicted child molester as in the case of Paul Berry or Erica Garza.

I began to wonder how that could be possible? What on earth type of mind control are we experiencing?

I believe it would be a good idea to try to present a more balanced view of life in the Watchtower and personal responsibility for our own choices however I find it is not a popular notion on this board. That might be simply that the more mature and balanced posters choose not to contribute to many ridiculous threads.

Silence is maintained at all costs in the congregations.
In our hall when individual threats to silence us seemed to be failing, the BOE gave a talk from the platform on Forgiveness. It was designed to touch your conscience and guarantee your self enforced silence.
In the talk: a sister willingly attended a Book study conducted by the man who had murdered her husband. Best I could figure out: Elder killed hubby before he became a witness and the town was Urban Legend.
Whatever! I really dont care what a couple of whacked out consenting adults do anyway but I sure wouldnt recommend it for a four year old.

Almost thirty members of Paul Berrys congregation volunteered to testify as character witnesses for him at the trial.

If you can take good men, good women, husbands, mothers, fathers, grandfathers grandmothers who know that child molesting is wrong and convince them to do the bidding of the Watchtower, doesnt that SCARE you?

What else will they do? Maybe THEY have already fulfilled your theme scripture?
