Funny how a JW can't even get a blowie, yet the WT can rape the rank and file all day long by taking their money and stringing them along a lie of a religion.

The Meetings Really Suck Lately
by Pika_Chu inwarning.....profanity ahead...wimps may want to leave this page.... perhaps it's stupid bringing this up when all you guys are up to speed with how the gb is full of shit anyway, but i just feel like complaining about it.
the borg is royally fucked up, and we need to call them out on it.. all the talks are about armageddon being close, closer than ever, etc.
you know, the usual crap...we've all heard a thousand times...puke puke.... then there's the added factor that everyone in my congo is actually convinced that they cannot miss even a single meeting.

I tried and rode the fence for a long time. All it gave me was a chapped ass. I'm on the apostate side now, and although angry/grieving a little, I'm breathing easier, living in my own skin.

Watchtower What is Sexual Relations?
by Marvin Shilmer inwatchtower what is sexual relations?
today i uploaded a new article to my blog asking watchtower what is, in actuality, sexual relations?
it seems watchtower has been flippin-n-floppin on this question.

Only in the JW's can someone be labeled as a "ho" or a "player" while still being a virgin. "O that pioneer skank, yeah, she got caught heavy petting. So sinful..."

For the board atheists....
by Jack C. inthis is a personal observation and certainly not representative of all atheists.
i enjoy discussions with folks of this persuasion; in general they appear well read and somewhat more educated than many believers.
as a group most atheists cringe and become insensed when discussing the existence of a deity with believers especially fundamentalists.

Poll: What do you believe now?
by Lunatic Faith ini have been noticing we ex-jw's are very different in our choices of beliefs once we leave the wts.
some choose christianity, others flee christianity.
some find they can't beieve in anything any more.

Agnostic leaning hard towards Atheism, and it would take something pretty amazing to move my mind on the topic at this point.

Quite the tail you have there. You've certainly been through a lot of mental anguish, stress, and being made to feel worthless. I rode the fence for years, from my teens to my late 20's. Let me tell you, in the end all you wind up with is a really sore ass for riding the fence so long. In my opinion it's not worth it. Make the leap, draw the line, or just fade.
You can't cram your brain into that tiny little box of JW insanity anymore. Get free.
Maybe look for other ex-JW's within driving distance on some of the more popular JW message boards and meet up. Go back to school, but talk to the other people like a normal person would. Take up a hobby/sport of some sort that involves other people. Date regular real "worldly" girls - trust me, once you've been a JW that's only boned your wife, being able to sleep with girls within a couple dates is really awesome lol. And no guilt or lightning bolts from Jee-hovah either!
I have a great GF at the moment, but am still struggling with the friends thing a lot. Currently working on 2 approaches though. I don't think I'll ever feel or act normal after what I've lived like/been through, but bullshit goes a long way towards filling in the cracks when it comes to socializing and being human.

Telling family / friends about researching JW religion
by dozy inwhen a jw husband of a friend of mine found out that she had been researching online about jehovah's witnesses , he described it as a "breach of trust" and a legitimate reason to break up the marriage (or at least separate , citing the wtbts "spiritual danger clause").. thankfully my own wife has been more understanding but is this kind of reaction common?
and is it in some way justified on the basis that snooping around online , talking to others on messageboards , not from day one telling one's mate etc is perhaps dishonest?

Sadly I do think that this is a common reaction. The second I started fading, my JW wife at the time started giving me hell every moment we were together. She eventually moved out on me, got me DF'd for drinking beer and watching regular R rated movies in the privacy of my own home by repeatedly calling the elders on me, and wanted (and got) a divorce. Funny how they say all sorts of shit about honoring your marriage vow to Jehovah, but as soon as they get the idea that you're not down for slaving to fake-old-Yahweh-in-the-sky anymore then they can violate all their own religion's standards and get divorced while having the elders stand behind them. Granted this scenario that happened to me can work either way, male/female roles reversed.

What Turns The Average "Worldly" Person Away From The Witnesses?
by minimus inis it their door-to-door incessant preaching?
is it their view on blood?
is it that the religion itself is simply often misunderstood?.
-
i_drank_the_wine
Because regular worldly people, by and large, don't know the JW specific beliefs on things that we would consider hot topics. They're just annoying weird religious people with strange beliefs is all they know, by and large. John Doe doesn't know about 607, blood, UN, molestors, failed prophecies, tec.
Just wanted to add that to my above comment.

People are just annoyed by JW's just like they are annoyed by telemarketers and spam email. No one has any time or patience for stuff like this anymore, and the JW's are the most annoying of the aforementioned by far. Add to it that "worldly" people generally have the idea that JW's have wacked out beliefs and there ya have it.

The Alpha and Omega-God has no beginning and no end /as opposed to the universe having no beginning and no end ?
by smiddy ini would like some more enlightened beings than me to thrash this out.. to start the ball rolling with my small intellect.
i was always taught from my jw days that nothing came from nothing, and i accepted that.. all of creation had a start, and reproduced itself according to it`s kind according to genesis.
and of course we now know their are life forms that are a-sexual that reproduce.
