I'd be down for a Watchtower pioneer covergirl calendar. Maybe some lusty pioneers that are all hot for Jehovah with those sexy dresses that go all the way down to the ankles and up to the neck. Maybe even something suggestive for lonely single ministerial servants like a bare kneecap or a thigh covered by a service bag... Va-va-voom!

Could the JW's survive another 1975?
by i_drank_the_wine inthe only years that i'm aware of in recent history that the jw's lost numbers was after the 1975 debacle.
someone posted on another thread about the damage control they're doing with the new "generation" nonsense with an assembly part where one person explains the "new light" to another that isn't too sure of it.. if they're having to do damage control like this over something relatively minor in comparison to 1975 (just some more "new light" as always), how do you think they would hold up under another 1975-level "oopsy"?
people seem to get less and less willing to be locked into religious systems that just don't conform with the modern world as it is.. if the internet was around, how many more people do you think would have google'd "jehovahs witnesses" at some point in 1976, perhaps while alone on the computer after the world didn't end?

If the internet was around, how many more people do you think would have google'd "jehovahs witnesses" at some point in 1976, perhaps while alone on the computer after the world didn't end? News and information wasn't as widespread back then either. Look at all the eyeballs that recent loon got when he was predicting the end of the world based on the bible. He was all over the news.
Granted, the Washtowel Wizards won't make that mistake again, but they are faltering already on a smaller scale. Who's not to say that they'll actually be nothing more than a footnote in history if the already slowing growth doesn't improve and the mid 2000's roll around with the second of the overlapping generations starting to die off en masse? I don't think that they could survive another hit like that in the Internet age.

Overlapping generation segment on the new Circuit Assembly program
by traveb inso there i was at the circuit assembly sunday morning with my eyes glazed over as usual when all of a sudden, bam!
a demo with two brothers talking about the new overlapping generation teaching.
the reason it took me by surprise was because it occured during the second talk of the sunday morning symposium, "sanctify god's name by your speech".

" Perhaps this is their new preemptive warfare tactic ... like the recent 607 articles."
Can someone point me to what they said?

This from the comments section sums it up:
"If a person changes their mind about Bible-based teachings they once held dear, we recognise their right to leave."
That's kind of like throwing someone out of a window and saying, "we recognise their right to fall to the ground".

The comments section there is a minefield lol. I love this one JW's argument against Atheism:
" Why is there somthing and not nothing?" - he basically pimpsmacked science with that one lol
Also digging the fact that this is the most popular article on this newspaper's website at the moment.
Just thinking out loud: there's 7 million JW's now. I wonder how many exJW's there are now? and if/when that number will excede the JW's numbers? Could it have happened already?

Almost de-converted a JW today...
by MoneurMallard inwell, after hours of chat online via yahoo messenger and emails back and forth via my youtube channel, i almost successfully de-converted a young woman in california from the borg.

which is the more correct asinine term these days?.

That's a great feeling. My ministry is the undoing of the JW's ministry. Would love to be able to help someone out some die. Lord knows I've tried with everyone in my family and the few "friends" I had before leaving.

Born into a JW family, currently Agnostic. I'm 99.999% Atheist really, but just don't want to wake up with mud in my eye if I'm wrong again lol.
I do not believe that there is anything under the sun that can't be explained scientifically, whether we have the ability to do so now or not.

Who cares if someone can see your IP address? Anything you visit or do is most likely logged by your ISP anyway unless you are running through some sort of proxy service, in which case it would just log the proxy. It's not like your social security number or anything. Who gives a crap if someone can tell what geographic region or town you are accessing the internet through? Do you think that some super-hacker is out there just dying to get access to family vacation photos and ex-JW message board account and that having your IP address is the golden key?

Witnessing to the JW's on my Online Baby Forum
by AwSnap ini did not expect myself to do this, as i usually just stay quiet and mind my own business unless someone approaches me about jw's.
as many of you know, i had a baby a few months ago.
on babycentercommunity, a woman titled a thread "i don't believe in halloween".

Did any of the JW's actually contact you?
