OK, retarded is not a good word. Everyone is so afraid to call me it! "Borderline" my little bit of intelligence is telling me means borderline functional. And then you say you don't want to hurt my feelings by trying to explain what Mark 3:35 means. Hm, how can I believe you? I think you don't KNOW what Mark 3:35 means. And so you call me retarded. Seeing that you already "hurt my feelings" but I'm not crying, but laughing, which is odd, please give me a hint. Thank you.

apologies if this has been discussed before, but i am really very interested in finding out why members here left their congregations for lives away from jw?.

was there a "lightbulb" moment where you just woke up one day and realised that you had been brainwashed?

or a slow realisation over time?

The JWs believe they are led by God's Spirit.

God is Love says 1 John 4:16

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.

Love does not look for it's own interest 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

4 Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, 5 does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, 6 does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

The organization is all about looking for it's own interest. Why not see for yourself that they rejoice in unrighteousness? Which means they get happy when they think of God destroying everyone but them.

Also it is clear that they do not have truth yet they rejoice in what they do have. It is my opinion that what they do have is selfish longing. It is not bad to hope for a peaceful Earth. But it will never come the way they say which is to be like them.

I left because I came to my own conclusion that they are not beng led by God's Spirit. And it is my opinion they they are not looking to be led by God's Spirit.

OK. So you explain what Mark 3:35 does mean by applying it to another unrelated scripture. Why do that? Please explain it by comparing it to a related scripture which would be Matthew 25:40, please.

"The King will answer and say to them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.'

What does Mark 3:35 mean please?

Remember the good elders tell you to get into the drama. So please put yourself in that room with the women and imagine how the women would feel if Jesus ignored that his mother and sisters where outside and ignored that there were real women in the room. It appears Jesus might have chose to confuse you for the sake of the women who were present. What do you think?

You quoted Mark 3:33-35 to suggest that one that merely does God's will becomes one of Christ's brothers, which isn't true at all, so who really is the one lying here?

I don't know who's lying. It seems that according to YOU who is lying is either 1. Jesus or 2. whoever wrote Mark 3:35

So according to what I understand the Governing Body teach, which is listen to them or die, they do teach that they alone are doing God's will. Or is it OK for me to understand the scriptures differently than what they teach today?

The only one I know how to answer for sure is "who are Christ's brothers?". #3

Mark 3:33-35

33 Answering them, He said, “Who are My mother and My brothers?” 34 Looking about at those who were sitting around Him, He said, “Behold My mother and My brothers! 35 “For whoever does the will of God, he is My brother and sister and mother.”

It is extremely haughty for the Governing Body to be teaching that they alone are doing God's will. And it's a lie.

For them to be saying so and so is no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses is the same as saying the Organization is equal to Jehovah God.

Because it is Jehovah who knows who witnesses for Jehovah are. No man can know that.
