@ - LevelThePlayingField - Yeah, i figured it was probably a typo, or something. It was just weird how it said "spent", and "transitioned", instead of, will be "spending", and "transitioning". I got a little confused, i guess. -

I wonder why, towards the end of the middle paragraph, it says, " we SPENT some time with our respective families". Didnt they just get the letter saying they are being "releived" of their position? I would think that he would have said, "we are going to be SPENDING time with our families during this transition". Seems like the "wording", and or "tense" is wrong.
@ - LevelThe PlayingField - Was that a typo, on your part, or did he say it that way? Just wondering, cause it sounds like thats an old letter, or it happened awhile ago.

The Stupidity of the "Preaching Work" ...
by Muddy Waters inthis came up in another thread and i wondered if any one else thought this way while they were still in..... - that it is actually better not to preach as people who don't hear "the truth" are said to be given a resurrection rather than the poor saps who refused a paltry magazine and now merit everlasting destruction..

@ - Saved_Jw - What that pioneer for over 4 years, should have said, was that "we stand for announcing Jehovahs KINGDOM". Thats what their message should be. The whole "purpose" should be announcing Gods kingdom, and that Jesus is King, ruling that kingdom, temporarily.
Whether its right, or wrong, or real, or imagined, doesnt matter for this conversation. Its that THAT is what they SHOULD be "standing for". The problem is, that MOST JW's do not even understand this, and definiately do not "preach" this from door to door. By their own rhetoric, they should be, but they usually dont.
The fact that a pioneer could not answer even, that most basic fundamental reason for being a JW, shows that most are their for "pioneer status", or look at it as a "lifestyle".

Does a brother have to be appointed an MS to be an account servant?
by 4thgen inas many of you know, my ex-husband was removed as an elder for child abuse.
i was told at the time he would never be reappointed in any capacity.
yet i heard today he was appointed as an account servant.

@ - 4thGen - Wow, child abuse, i dont know about any specifics, concerning you ex husband, but i hope it didnt involve your own children, that would be terrible. I dont know what your ex husband did, but if it was serious, i sure hope he doesnt get ANY "privileges", ever again. -

@ - Muddy Waters - I have OFTEN thought the exact same thing, both when i was "IN", and "out". I often liken it to the JW's, when doing the preaching work, are like "executioners" going door to door. They might as well be wearing black hoods, and holding axes, and nooses to hang the innocents.
If you dont take their literature, or if you turn them away, then THAT is your judgement. It gives the R&F, a false sense of importance, and in their own minds, they have the "power to judge fellow humans". How, ridiculous, and what nerve, these ones have. This is something from the top, all the way down to the bottom. This "attitude" is pervasive amongst the R&F, and its done by most of the R&F JW's.
They feel they are better than everyone else. Only they are worthy to "judge" others, and when preaching to the masses, they think they are carrying out Gods judgement. What a "crock of shit". The audacity of these people, with their over inflated egos, and their delusions of grandeur.
Instaed of bibles, and magazines, they might as well be carrying axes, swords, guns, and knives. By their own twisted logic, they have BLOOD on their hands, EVERY time they do the preaching work.

No wonder the WTS, is having such a hard time finding "capable men". When your religion consists of only 35 percent male, and within that 35%, many are older, not reaching out, not considered "worthy" by all their BS reasons, "unqualified" because of not speaking well, and so on, it leaves them with an even much smaller percentage of males, to draw from. Then you add to that, all the people waking up to TTATT, and they are screwed. -

WOW, talk about propoganda at its finest/worst. So, they are making a video about making a video of, essentially, EXPLOITING a tragedy that happened to their own kinsmen/"brothers". Forcing men, woman, and children, to "smile for the camera", while we pretend everything is great, especially for us, cause we have a one way ticket back to Governing Body land.
I literally, lol'd when the korean "brother", said how they " felt like they were getting Jehovahs spirit, cause it gave them almost superhuman strength to stay up all night, and coordinate the video". Yeah, right, what a freaking joke, like NO other humans on the planet have ADRENALINE, yeah thats right, its ADRENALINE, not Gods spirit.
I also lol'd, when in the beginning, they showed how there was no electric, but THEY NEEDED to charge their equipment, and Jehovah provided by them having access to the, probably, only generator the brothers had. Yeah, i bet those brothers LOVED waisting the precious fuel/gas, that runs the generator, on your fucking cameras and cellphones. That action, kinda puts the whole video into perspective.

Handing out candy
by mikeypants ingrowing up my parents would barricade our home off by parking vehicles bumper to bumper - you would have to crawl under the cars or over the bumpers to get to our door.
also, we would turn off all the lights and hide in the back room away from the street.. that was the norm for me.
isnt that insane?

@ - Virgochik - Wheres the harm? How could you say that, dont you know that everytime you give candy to a 4 year old, a demon gets its, leathery, bat like, wings. If you give one of those bigger "goody bags", filled with extra candy, to a 5 year old, a demon gets bigger horns. Finally, if you give spare change to a 6 year old, a demon gets extra sharp fangs.
So, yeah, there is a lot of harm, and depending on how much candy you are giving, you could be "strengthening" satans army, shame, shame, shame.

My neighborhood, and specifically, my block in New Jersey, goes "crazy" for Halloween. Its so much fun. My neighbor/friend across the street, has his whole front yard decorated with life sized, electroniclly motorized, "moving" statues, of horror flick characters. There is Jason, Freddy Kruegger, Hannibal Lector, Frakenstein, and the guy from the Texas Chainsaw massacre, all standing around, with moving arms, and heads. They are SO LIFELIKE, that the kids and adults, going to the house are not sure if they are real people or not.
So, what we do is dress up too, and stand there with the moving statues, and "come ti life", and "attack" the kids. They LOVE it, and run away screaming, and coming back for more. My neighbors, whos house it is, dressed up as a "scary killer clown", complete with balloons and axe, and i was in a very scary "ghoul" mask, and ripped clothes, and "knife"
Then, directly across the street, at my house, we had smoke/fog machines, and flashing strobe lights, all along the front yard walkway up to my front door. I have a HUGE tree in the front yard with spider webs hanging low, and "grapping" people. On my front yard, i even had 2 of my LIVE and REAL cats, one all black, and one dark grey, who "hung out" on the front lawns grass, with all the kids and neighbors. These are 2 out of my 5 cats, dont worry i have a very big home, lol, that dont mind going outside and they LOVE people. They are the perfect addition to a Halloween set-up.
Even my other neighbors, on the right side of my house, get into it, too. They sit on 2 chairs in their driveway, on e person dressed and looking "normal", while the other person is in costume, with a scary mask, but made to look like a "fake" prop, not a real person. Most kids are NOT sure if he is real, as he does NOT move an inch, until the unsuspecting kids come closer to get candy, and he "jumps up" at them. Of course, they are running away screaming, lol.
Its really fun, and besides, us and our immediate neighbors, there are MANY other houses on our block, that are all doing similar things. The fog machines "smoke" spreads out over the whole street. People have "scary" music blasting out their windows. Adults in costume, randomly "waiting" to scare, unsuspecting trik or treaters, all along the whole block, its great. Being that Halloween was on a Saturday, everybody went "all out", even more so, this year, as we were expecting things to go all thru the night. This is exactly what happened. My kids, and all the kids, had a blast. The whole block was one big interactive, scary themed , "world". Kids running, and screaming, adults laughing, and chasing, it was great. Everone LOVED my 2 cats, that were walking around on my front lawn, as REAL, live "props", and the cats loved it too.

@ - Olivia Wilde - Gotcha, that clears it up for me. I hadnt realised about the "must" read scriptures. I do remember all the scriptures that were quoted, and or put after the paragraphs, but i didnt remember there being "mandatory" to be read out load. I dont think that was around when i was there, but who knows, lol.
