What Was The Silliest "Offense" That You Were Counseled For?

when i was a teenager, i was told by an elder that because i smiled a lot and was known for my good sense of humor, that i should come across as "more serious".

so before i was appointed a ms, while in my late teens, i transformed myself into a much more "serious" brother.. were you ever told that you needed to work on something that you knew was stoopid?.

I was "counseled" by the dip shit elders, when I was in my teens, for DEMONISM. You see, us "evil" teenagers, saw the movie "the good son", which had a young McCauley Culkin and Elijah wood, and it was about a "troubled" child. We also listened to rock, and metal music, and went to a concert or 2.

Taken as a whole, this meant we were "inviting" demons into our lives, and the "theme" of all we did was demonic. This was serious shit to these elders. I mean, local needs talks, and backroom meetings. Our parents were spoken to, notes were compared. It was absurd.

Well, you know what the eventual outcome was? Pretty much, we figured, if we were being "crucified" for trivial nonsense of a rated R movie, and some heavy music, we might as well do some REALLY bad shit. So we decided NOT to see rated R movies, and go to "demonic" concerts anymore.

Instead we took up TONS of fornication, and recreational drug use, lol. What these scumbag, sicko elders don't realize, is that when you BERATE, and BROW BEAT the sheep over NONSENSE, and especially when its teenage children, you are basically driving them right out the door. The way I looked at it, is if Jah hated me for R movies, and music, I might as well have him hate me for having some good old fashioned SEX too. Best decision I ever made, lol.

While I was watching this video, I kept thinking 2 things in particular. The first was, I cannot believe these are a bunch of JW's at a possible "convention". The second thing, was that I was picturing myself at this "event", and whether if it was when I was in the "truth", or not, I would have been CRINGING in the back of this place, with my mouth open, and a WTF look on my face.

Whether I was "in", or "out", that would have been a very weird, uncomfortable, socially odd, awkward, and at times laugh out loud, "get together" to have been invited to.

I am still a bit dumbfounded, by what exactly I just saw. Context, would REALLY go a long way to "deciphering" what my eyes and ears have just witnessed. My how times have changed.

The jw.org billions

it is still strange, that an organization, lead by a group of old timers, is gaining billions at the moment, without giving any transparency and accountancy feedback, because these men "trust each other", and come away with that.. they got the property investment by the use of cohi associates, and deposit their liquid assets at the caymans.. it is clear: the real power behind the jw.org facade is securing his future.. don't get me wrong, i'm not insane, but more and more i got this strong gut feeling that some governmental organization has the real power.. gorby.

The huge chunk of money will poor in. They will "bounce" off ideas to each other, on what they will do with the money. They will disagree on it, and probably decide to let an "unbiased" neutral party make the decisions.

The sheer amount of money, WILL be too tempting, and enticing, to not corrupt the said parties. There will be "missing" moneys, and misappropriated spending.

Then there will be infighting amongst the GB, as they point fingers, and blame each others for the "issues". This will cause them to take back complete "control" of the money.

Now the GB, who are already starting to dis-trust each other, will REALLY be "eyeing" each other up. Like, who did what with the money, and who used what portion, and why did he spend that on that, and where did he get that from.

Many, many, many, rumors will start seeping out of Bethel. Many, many, many R&F, will be hearing the "murmuring", and questioning the "money".

This will cause the GB to become "proactive", and give their stupid, idiotic, "addresses" to the masses on JW.org. It WILL come off as insincere, and questionable. This will cause a further riff between the GB, themselves, and between the GB, and the masses.

This MONEY, will be the END of the ORG. It will make them become CORRUPT, and EVIL, and it WILL be absolute. The money "tables" will be flipped over, and trashed. The ORG, will "ROT" from the inside out, and top to the bottom.

Any huge amount of money, like they will be getting, WILL ABSOLUTELY be the cause, and ultimate destruction of this MAN MADE organization. The peoples in charges TRUE colors will come out, and by their "fruits" we will see them, and the tree will be cut down at its very roots.

Hey, um Lion/Jesus dude, er sir, er i mean savior, can you PLEASE do me a favor and change the date from the 27th of January to the 31st? You see, thats my 7 year old, soon to be 8 years old, daughters birthday, and we have big plans to go away to an indoor water park in the Poconos Pennsylvania, and i would hate for that to be ruined by your whole, world end thingy.

So, yeah, can you just bump it a few days later, i already gave a $500 deposit on the room at the Hotel, thanks Lion/Jesus man.

Today is Christmas, and guess what? Witnesses's were going house to house on my block, TODAY ON CHRISTMAS!!!!!!

my family, and i, were on our way to my wife's brothers house today, which is the families christmas tradition.

we open presents in the morning, and at around 10:30, we head over to my brother in laws for breakfast/brunch, with all the family.. so, as we loaded some presents up in the car, and we all jumped, and drove away, at the end of my block, jehovahs witnesses!

I kid you not!!!!! My family, and i, were on our way to my wife's brothers house today, which is the families Christmas tradition. We open presents in the morning, and at around 10:30, we head over to my brother in laws for breakfast/brunch, with all the family.

So, as we loaded some presents up in the car, and we all jumped, and drove away, at the end of my block, JEHOVAHS WITNESSES! I could not believe my eyes. I literally yelled in the car, "do you believe these psychos are out on Christmas day, HARASSING people".

Yes my friends, today, on Christmas day, and in the RAIN, I saw 4 JW's knocking on peoples doors, bothering their neighbors at 10:30 in the morning. This was on my own block, it was ridiculous.

My wife, who was never a Witness, and only knows about them from me, asked "why are they bothering people on Christmas day"? To which, i answered, "Its because they think people will be home today, and they can try to catch them at home, and they could care less that it is a holiday, and special day for families to be together".

Her, and my 2 daughters, thought it was one of the most rude, and obnoxious things that someone could do on Christmas day. I could only agree.

Has anyone else seen any JW's preaching on Christmas day before? Or have any of you here, ever done this before, when you were active? Just curious.

American accents, Bette Midler, Clinton, Rick Fearon, Strathclyde, Morningside

i used to enjoy being able to distinguish different local accents, but for some reason i've got worse at it.

i was thinking about this today when i was listening to bette midler on the scottish radio.

i thought to myself i quite liked her accent and also that it reminded me of someone else.

Anywhere i go in America, and even outside the U.S., everyone can usually tell that I am from NYC/NJ area. I have, at least to the rest of the country, a distinct Brooklyn/Italian, NYC accent. Its a "localized" Staten Island/Brooklyn accent.

In fact, when i am in New Jersey, which is where i live now, New Jersey people can actually tell that i am from Staten Island NY. I sound different, and specific, to them, but to people from other parts of the country, I just sound like an Italian American from NYC.

Where i am from, Staten Island/Brooklyn, there is really no other group that sounds like us. We are distinct, NY accent, all by itself. It is, probably, do to an isolated population being "trapped" on a single "island", and one specific national group, Italian American.

In fact, even the Italians that came to NY, directly from Italy, and still speak mostly Italian, have their own Italian dialect. It is not spoken ANYWHERE else in the world, except Brooklyn/Staten Island. It is a mix of mostly Italian words, mixed with English "slang" words, and expressions, unique to NYC. One of my ex-girlfriends father spoke it. Italians coming directly from Italy, could NOT speak this form of Italian/English. It is just spoken by Italian speaking, "old timers", who have been in America/NYC, for years, but never fully learned English.

Now, back to my NYC/staten Island accent. To most New Yorkers, i actually have a very "mild" accent, but to the rest of the world, they know i am from NY when i speak.

Beards

i spend a month on vacation with no worry from the congregation overseas of course.

i grew a full beard now and with glasses i finally have posted my picture on facebook og me... next to half life 2 cover showing i look like gordan freeman lol.

BTW, i LOVE my beard/go-tee. I have been rocking it since leaving the cult, and that was over 20 years ago. Interestingly, enough, i left the cult in my early 20's, so i did not even know if i could grow a beard, until i left for good, lol. Fortunately for me, i can, and i have been growing it since, not continuously of course.

Boredom at the Kingdom Hall meetings

put aside all the stupid rules,beliefs,doctrines and practices of the jehovah's witnesses.this is one of the main reasons why i stopped attending all meetings!

One of my oldest, and best friends, used to "navigate" the meetings PERFECTLY. His family came in the "truth" when he was very young. From the ages of 5 to 12 years old, him and his brother, would literally fall sound asleep right after the opening song, and snore all the way thru, until the closing song.

It didnt matter if they were sitting in the back row, or dead front, and center. They were out cold, snoring, and counting sheep, at EVERY meeting, including the CO visits, lol.

Needless to say, they were never considered spiritually "strong", and their Father, who was a great guy btw, was always looked down on, for not waking them up. He was probably smart enough to know, that it was "safer" for them to be sleeping, than awake, lol.

My friend who slept thru every meeting, is still to this day, 35 years later, one of my best friends. I havent talked to anyone else from my old Hall, except him, lol.

It makes sense, i mean most of the hardcore JW's i knew, were the biggest assholes EVER, so its only logical that they would make the worst neighbors too.

The problem with your average hard lined JW, is that they truly believe they are better than everyone else, and especially "worldly" people. They look at ALL non-JW's, as not even being "worthy" of common courtesies, or respect.

They have already pre-judged all worldly people, including their neighbors, as being bird food at armageddon, so why would they even care about their neighbors lawns, parking spots, children, or any common courtesy.

At work, JW's are usually the same way, too. They have no respect for fellow employees, and walk around with an "air" of superiority. Most of the times, they even will look down on their own employers, too, and just think of their work as a neccesarry evil, in this system. They will not give an extra minute, or bead of sweat, than they have to, and usually many JW's cant keep jobs too long. They will either become pioneers, work for other "brothers", or try to start some BS business.

The shame of all of this, is that the worst "witness" to the organisation, are the MEMBERS themselves. Most hard lined JW's do not even realize how their actions come across, and how ridiculously horrible the look to other people. They learn nothing about being a TRUE Christian, and applying the fruits of the spirit, to EVERYONE.

NOPE, instead, most JW's are weirdos, social misfits, who have NO business thinking they are better than anyone. They are one of the most uneducated, religious groups in America, yet they act like they are at the top of the food chain, but nothing could be further from the truth. They are indoctrinated, and living in a delusional world, that is full of unloving, weirdos.
