  The WBT$'s use of the "new light" scripture on EVERY turn, and "interpretation", and to justify ALL its MISTAKES, almost borders on OBSESSION.

  Never have they had to use that scripture as much as they have in recent years. It is truly a testament to their FAILURE as being "inspired".

  Really, at the end of the day, this modern version of the BORG's whole doctrine is hinging upon the "new light" scripture. It is the cornerstone of their existence, at this point.

  It is, literally, all they have left. It is all they can quote, and rely on, at this point. It is ALL about BLIND OBEDIENCE, based on a CULT whos core doctrine hinges on "new light".

  It is shamefull. This is no longer a religion of intellectual, interpretations, and logical findings, unearthed by well learned men. It is WEAK, and FALSE, it sways with the wind. There is NO foundation, any longer. It is built upon the shifting sands of "new light".

  Their obsession with holding on to "new light" as their last straw, is making them MAD. It is driving them further into CULT mode. OBEY or DIE, is basically their MOTTO, lately. That's "new light", for ya.

  hello forum.

  i started this topic because i had been thinking recently about a story that i had heard many times in different congregations over the years.

  kind of a jw urban legend if you will.

  Hey Time Bandit, I remember being told a story from my own Father. It was concerning an older, German brother, in my Fathers old congregation in NYC.

  This brother had a very heavy German accent, and was kind of "old school" in his tough demeanor, and NO nonsense, kind of way.

  Well, him and an older sister were working out in service, and when they approached the door, a very large German shepherd was standing on top of the stairs before the door.

  The dog was snarling, and barking, and appearing to be vicious. The older sister was terrified. The older German bro, however, said something in German to the dog, and kept repeating, "Do not worry sister, Jehovah will protect us".

  The brother walked up the stairs, towards the vicious dog, pulled out a pair of gloves, and proceeded to WHACK the dog square on the snout, with the gloves.

  The dog, stopped barking, yelped out a cry, and ran right off away down the stairs. The brother looked at the sister and said, "see, I told you Jehovah would protect us". Then, I assume they knocked on the door, and the householder probably told them to go away, anyway, lol.

  The point is, it wasn't Jehovah who "saved" them, it was this hard assed German brother, who whacked the dog on the nose. Yes, HE had the "strength" to do it, HE had NO FEAR, HE had FAITH, you could say, but it was still HIM.

  Another interesting thing, too, is that I have heard other variations of this story, and do indeed believe it to be a JW "urban legend" of sorts. I give credence, to this story, specifically, because my own Father told it to me, and actually KNEW the brother. There ARE many JW "legends", however, and they are "used" as faith strengthening anecdotes, and probably either encouraged or even started by the GB.

  Pale Emperor - My friend, I am being 100% SERIOUS, PLEASE PM me the elders that are harassing you, PERSONAL information. Such as NAME, ADDRESS, AGE, and so on.

  I WILL PERSONALLY DESTROY THEM. FINANCIALLY, REPUTATION wise, get them FIRED FROM THEIR JOB, and slowly, and deliberately crush every aspect of their lives.

  When I am thru with them, they will be withered husks of their former selves. They will be MENTALLY beaten, EMOTIONALLY ruined. Sleepless nights will abound for them. There WILL be NO comfort for their souls.

  They will thurst for mercy, but none shall be given. They will hunger relief, but it shall NEVER come.

  A great DARKNESS shall descend upon them, there will be NO light upon their footsteps, only MADNESS will direct them.

  BEWARE the JOB you thought was safe. BEWARE the paycheck that never comes. BEWARE the eviction from your home. BEWARE the credit card that cancels. BEWARE the insurance that doesn't pay.

  i heard today about a former jw/now apostate who is dying in hospital.

  this information was accompanied by the comment of "wouldn't be awful to be lying there in hospital,dying as an apostate!

  - 80 "out of the closet" confirmed.

  - 200 departures requested by bethelites, where same reason is suspected.. - 20 censured ones "returning to the flock".

  Special Pioneers drive through flooded creek...destroy ton of literature in boot!

  two sisters decided to drive thru a flood creek during a storm so they would not miss a new kingdom hall dedication.

  when the water reached over the hood the abandoned the car and swam to saftey.

  a ton of watchtower literature the had in the boot for the isolated hall was destroyed.

  They probably thought the waters were going to "miraculously" part for them, like Moses at the Red sea.

  Instead, the water practically flushed them, and the "crap" literature, down the sewers.

  In all seriousness, though, as stupid and foolish a mistake that was, and how it put them and others lives at risk, at least nobody died, or got hurt. That was pretty dumb though.

  TROT - You compared life, humans, animals, and this world, as we know it, to a program, almost like a video game. Where the AI, humans, became like a virus, and therefore the programmer, God, needs to destroy the virus, so to speak.

  Well, my friend, this "analogy" is primitive and basic, at its, supposed, "deepest" level.

  You see, VIDEO GAMES, and a PROGRAM, are NOT REAL. They have NO feelings. They do NOT feel pain, hurt, anxiety, horror, terror, and the many, many things that have befalled humans, since the beginning of time.

  To compare the suffering, and unimaginable pain, that humanity has endured, to a VIDEO GAME, makes you simple, and just as evil as the God you are pushing.

  To "wrap up in a nutshell", the pain of losing a child, and loved ones, and disease's, as being like a mere program, makes you an "apologist" for it. YOU, my friend, ARE the one missing the big picture.

  A program, video game, is a man-made construct, and it IS, indeed easy, and harmless, to wipe out a program, and delete a whole "world", in a video game. The characters, and worlds, in these programs, feel, and know, nothing.

  However, for a God/creator, of a REAL world, with REAL, thinking, humans, who can even contemplate their own pain, love, joy, hurt, and existence, and SUBJECT them to a painful "deletion" of their world, and loved ones, IS CRIMINAL, and the opposite of LOVE.

  Your comparison, of the human experience to a simple program, shows me that YOU are sterile, and un-felling, and un-loving, just like YOUR god.

  Shame on YOU, for not having compassion for all the pain and suffering in this world.
