  Do you buy into conspiracy theories?

  i guess since leaving the witnesses, i have become willing to listen to more things.

  mainly because i learned in life, that if the religion you were raised to live and die for is wrong, and deceptive, then couldn't that be said of government and science?

  so with this in mind, of the ones i am going to list below.

  Re the Airliner hitting the Pentagon:

  A recent video making the rounds on the internet show a MacDonnald F-4 Phantom Jet being run into a concrete barrier at 500+ miles per hour. The airplane is effectively "vaporized". Virtually the entire mass of the airplane is converted to energy. This is shown "frame by frame". Those familiar with the Pentagon know that it is constructed "hell for stout" and is easily the equivalent of the concrete wall used in the test. The explanation for no airliner being found lies not in conspiracy theories, but in the formula (E=mc squared).

  I very much doubt that Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone gunman in the Kennedy Assination. His prime function appears to have been "patsy". Kennedy was about to bring the Vietnam debacle to a close and that would be very costly to the Military Industrial complex. His assination turned out to be very profitable for a great many people involved in military arms production.

  While it is true that you can do a good deal of flying without filing a flight plan providing that you fly VFR (Visual Flight Rules) and stay out of controlled air space, I assure you that most military and civilian airliners fly IFR (Instrument Flight Rules) and are carefully monitored. In some 18 years of military flying, we were always in contact with one control center or another and depended on them to keep us separated from folks like you who fly without filing. Hopefully you had your transponder on when you were bouncing around the skies so that you showed up on radar. It is a requirement to monitor guard channel (121.5 VHF or 243 UHF) whenever you fly IFR and we could always reach anyone we needed to on that frequency. I've read the transcripts of the control agencies during that time and noted a great deal of confusion about where everybody was. One of the first things the hijackers did was to turn off their transponders. Modern radars don't "skin paint" very well in a crowded sky. The situation was complicated by the information blackout conducted by American Airlines which apparently is policy whenever one of their craft goes down. The hijackers clearly caught us "napping". Perhaps the two aircraft headed for D.C. would have been shot down if the control agencies had been better organized. As it turned out, one crashed into the Pentagon and the passengers took out the other.

  czar of mischief makes some excellent points regarding the degree of coordination that would have been required to carry out a conspiracy of that magnitude. Never going to happen! I've also read the American Society of Civil Engineer's Report on the collapse. The structural design of the WTC was very unusual with most of the vertical support being in the exterior of the building. Once the steel support for the floors above the impact floors had softened on the exterior and the central core, there was nothing to stop the "pancaking". The lower floors were not designed to handle the impact load of the floors above crashing down.

  the only reason i can see for them to ever been done is for the publicity?

  quick builds remind me of extreme makeovers home edition.. do what ever it takes to get your ratings up..

  I suspect the real reason they went for "quick builds" was to marshall skilled labor that would be available for a short time period, but not for an extended construction time. Skilled craftsmen sometimes traveled long distances to a quick build on the weekend, but returned to their regular work after their part was done. Stretched out construction meant that only local craftmen were available.

  National Healthcare for the USA

  just an fyi for anyone interested - there is a major drive on to push the bill forward for national healthcare in the usa.

  you can sign the petition by going to http://www.onecarenow.org/.. it has gone through one part of the process last year and now the push is on to get it moved to the next level - it is backed by over 400 groups including the uaw i believe.

  it is no longer if it happens, it is only a matter of time as to when it happens.

  There was an Austrian Economist by the name of Ludwig Von Mises who defined the State as "that form of society in which each tries to live at the expense of his neighbor" Cynical, but very correct!

  There is much to fault in the US Health Care System. The cost is excessive and burdened by way too much administration. One reason it is so high is because people choose to spend their resources on other things besides medical insurance. They don't pay their medical bills so the rest of us must pay when we need medical attention. I lived under National Health Service while in the U.K. back in the 60's. It was horrible! Hopefully it has improved since then. Many of their doctors had emigrated to Canada and they were making up the deficit with doctors from India, Pakistan, Jamaica. It was difficult to find a physician you could understand. The infection rate in the hospitals was awful. My physician had 2700 patients on his list. Fortunately I had access to other healthcare options through the RAF There has been much praise for the Canadian system, but I wonder how well if would function if burdened by 11 million illegal imigrants..

  i showed up here about a year and a half ago confused and in shock.

  i was yet the latest victim of the runaway train that is the wt.

  my wife joined the wt and i was surrounded by drones doing their level headed best to consume my family while i am at work paying for it all.

  I know what you are going through. I went through the same 44 years ago. It is important that you know the rules, however.

  1. You are the head of your family. God put you in charge of your family. Don't hesitate to tell the Elders to "butt out" of things that are none of their business. They will try to run your life if you let them.

  2. Re: "the rules of attraction".; A Course in Miracles put the same idea a little differently:

  "That which you defend against, you make real to your own mind"

  As a Marine, you know the principles of judo which dictate that you use the opponents moves against him.

  3. Your kids will be very, very, bored by the continual meetings and studies. The programs are not designed for kids. It is your right to insist that they get their school homework done before going to meetings.

  4. You need to know more about the bible than they do. I would recommend "The Interpreter's One Volume Commentary on the Bible" edited by Charles M. Laymon.

  5. Don't neglect your own spiritual development just because your spouse has "gone off the deep end". I think my wife was suffering from "post partum depression" when the Witnesses knocked on the door.

  i am furious, i have a 1700 square foot house with all new appliances including a new air conditioning system by trane.

  what was my bill for june?

  ($400.00) this is beyond belief.

  Mine was $438.00. I have a 2000 square ft. home and an inground pool, central air. Keep the temp at 78 degrees most of the time. I use Cirro Energy. TXU charges even more!

  yes, i know the old testament made up of the law(torah) and the prophets were written and handed down through time and kept by the jews,as can be seen to this day.

  who put it together?

  after all , wasn,t it the catholic church that kept the writings in the latin untill the time of the reformation, whereby it was only then translated into other languages?

  One of the best resources for information about the bible is "The Interpreter's One Volume Commentary on the Bible". It covers all the bases including money, language, making of the Canon, etc. It contains the best scholarship from a wide variety of sources.

  One of the most interesting books on the subject was written by James Dillet Freeman of the Unity School of Christianity. The title was "The Case for Reincarnation". Freeman is highly readable and doesn't take himself too seriously. He is best known as Unity's Poet Laureate.

  I knew a lady in my Yoga group who did Past Life Regression. Swami Rama had forbidden her to continue the practice as he considered it a distraction from living fully in the present. However, she would sometimes take our group back to "the edge" and have us look at our feet. I saw my feet encased in sandals characteristic of what a Roman soldier would wear. Wonder if that is why I chose to follow a military career.
